In an era dominated by a seemingly endless stream of bow riders, it is refreshing to see a long established national company launch a traditional family runabout.  Melbourne based Streaker Boats has maintained the faith with the release of the Streaker 5250 Sports model.

In every sense of the term, this is a classic runabout configuration.   The cockpit is open, there are two forward bucket seats on short pedestals, an ample rear lounge topped off with a walk through ‘screen to the bow.

With an overall length of 5.25m and beam of 2.13m, this is a big little boat, ideal for the first boat buyer or perhaps a family trading up from a smaller aluminium rig.  It is rated to carry six adults, so there is ample scope for this to be a big hit with family boaters.

“Surprising as it may seem, not everyone wants a bow rider or cuddy cab,” said designer and Streaker Director Leon Savage.

“The runabout market is significant and the release of our Streaker 5250 Sports model brings a contemporary look and feel to a timeless configuration.  This is a good, honest boat that will serve families exceptionally well for many, many years.”

The Streaker 5250 Sports has a conventional vee bottom hull with 17 degree deadrise.  The freeboard is generous, making this an ideal rig for open water boating.  The award winning Streaker hull design formula dictates that a boat needs to be a strong performer under rough and adverse conditions – the 5250 Sports fits the bill perfectly.

The cockpit boasts a classic layout all trimmed in quality marine upholstery with a fully carpeted floor.   At the dash the driver has an excellent array of engine gauges plus Lowrance sounder, all factory fitted and installed as part of the comprehensive pack of standard inventory.

The centre section of the ‘screen opens and combined with a hinged deck panel, access to the bow sprit and separate anchor locker is first rate.  This easy access walk thru design is now a common feature of the Streaker cuddy cab and runabout range and has proven to be a big hit amongst boaties.

Another big feature of the Streaker 5250 Sports is the comprehensive factory fit out.  This rig comes as a complete turnkey package with all the equipment essential for a fun day on the water, included as standard.  The Streaker 5250 Sports standard inventory list includes items such as a bimini canopy, marine CD stereo, navigation lights, bilge pump, SS boarding ladder, bait board, SS ski pole and boarding platforms.

Powered by the customer’s choice of Yamaha two stroke or four stroke outboard engine, the Streaker 5250 Sports is rated to carry a maximum of 130hp (2 stroke) on the transom.  With a light weight Yamaha 130 two stroke, the rig not only delivers spirited performance, but is easy to handle.

The entire rig is supplied on an Easytow ‘Custom’ drive on trailer with alloy wheels, disc brakes and galvanised axle, springs & hubs.

This is a wonderful all-rounder that is suited to family fishing, water sports and general boating.  Available for less than $45,000 with a Yamaha 130hp V4 Saltwater series oil injected outboard, the Streaker 5250 Sports delivers more fun per dollar than most.

Streaker Boats is a leading Melbourne marine retailer, being authorised dealers for Quintrex, Streaker, Lewis Ski Boats and Yamaha outboards.  The company is one of the few Yamaha dealers in Australia that has been awarded the status of Platinum dealer.
