Bavaria Yachts are back into the performance market with the release of the Sport-Option Package added to its recently released Farr Yacht Design Cruiser 40. The Bavaria 40 Sport Package is aimed at sailors who want more performance without compromising on comfort. In keeping with the Bavaria price/value offering across their entire range the “Sport Package” offers in excess of $30,000 of benefits for $25,000.

The principal items offered in the Sport package include:

Lighter weight interior materials, resulting in weight savings over the standard Cruiser 40

Longer and narrower section Selden Mast and boom

Performance Keel

Cockpit traveler – German Mainsheet system

Spinnaker gear including carbon Spinnaker Pole

Performance Selden deck hardware, including Rodkick

Composite Steering wheels

Lewmar upgraded steering and Lewmar “EVO” winches

TacTick Micronet maxi displays and optional TacTick multifunctional instrumentation

Hydraulic backstay adjuster

The Bavaria 40 Sport will be released at Dusseldorf Boat Show, and we can expect more of the new yacht as it is raced in the coming European Spring/Summer with the German Match racing Team.

The Bavaria Sport package is likened to the BMW M Sport of the car industry, same hull, but with performance add-ons. With the support of Farr Yacht design who designed the competitive First series, we can expect IRC and ORC optimization potential for the Bavaria 40 Sport.

North South Yachting are excited to announce this new direction for Bavaria, and with the full support of Farr Yacht Design, it is a welcome return to performance racing for Bavaria.
