Brisbane’s anglers are set to be caught hook, line and sinker at this year’s Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show with organisers continuing to confirm some major attractions for this year’s event which will take place at the RNA Showgrounds on March 19 – 21, 2010.

Since beginning in 2002, the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show has become the biggest expo of its kind in Australia and last year more than 30,000 people flocked to the event to see the latest products and services for the fishing and outdoors enthusiast.

With a record number of exhibitors already signed up for this year’s event, the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show will be even bigger in 2010 with more than 100 stands offering a number of show specials and discounts to get everybody on the water.

Jason Plant from Marine Queensland, organisers of the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show said this year’s event will have an even greater educational aspect with a host of speakers and presentations confirmed for the Club Marine Fishing Stage.

“The program for this year’s Club Marine Fishing Stage will include presentations from professional fishermen, Dave Downie and Kaj ‘Bushy’ Bush who will be sharing their expert advice to anglers of all levels,” Plant said.

“We have also confirmed cooking demonstrations with Jason Andrews and Rodo Quinton who have 40 years of experience between them, along with the Berkley Kids Fishing Show which will include plenty of fun, games and giveaways.

“The Club Marine Fishing Stage will also be the weigh-in location for the 2010 Humminbird Queensland Open which will see the 20 teams competing in the competition attending the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show daily to weigh-in the best five bream caught each day from Moreton Bay.  The competition is one of the best in Australia and attracts some of the nation’s leading anglers who do battle for the major prize of $10,000.00”

Other attractions at the event include The Sports Fishin’ Simulator which will test angler’s skills in catching a number of different species of fish in an array of environments.

The 4BC Kids Clinic will also return for the third year with a number of interactive stations which will teach the younger members of the family a number of skills including how to cast a rod and net, catch a yabbie and how to preserve the waterways for years to come.

“The Kids Clinic has been extremely popular since it was introduced in 2008 and this year we’ll expand the program to include activities for teenagers along with younger children,” Plant added.

“The Sports Fishin’ Simulator will also return as it provides fisherman the opportunity to test the skills and tips they have acquired at the event and to put them into action.”

For the sixth year the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show will be held alongside the National 4×4 and Outdoors Expo making the event a one-stop shop for those with a passion for the great outdoors.

“There is no doubt that fishing and boating go hand-in-hand with four wheel driving and camping,” said Mark Petersen from the National 4×4 and Outdoors Expo.

“This year’s event will feature a number of exhibitors who will have everything from tents to campervans along with the latest four wheel drive models and accessories to get away from the city.”

Entry into the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show includes admission into the National 4×4 and Outdoors Expo are available for $12 with children under 15 free.
