The 50 Point Safety Check, an initiative of the Boating Industry Association (BIA) of NSW, is expected to attract boat owners from across the state as they confirm their craft ‘ready for summer.’
Fully supported by Marine Rescue NSW and the Marine Industry Mechanical Repairers Association (MIMRA), the 50 Point Safety Check aligns perfectly with the start of the 2010/2011 boating season.
Nearly 40 authorized marine dealers and workshops from Port Macquarie to Gerringong are ready to provide the comprehensive safety check, ensuring boats are well-prepared for the season.
Marine Rescue NSW Commissioner Glenn Finniss emphasizes that 73% of rescues result from engine failure, which often could be prevented with this safety check.
Many marine dealerships are now including the 50 Point Safety Check with routine servicing, helping boat owners avoid breakdowns and stay safe on the water.
BIA General Manager Roy Privett notes that summer is fast approaching, making this the ideal time for boaters to schedule their checks and ensure their vessels are in top shape.
