Nautilus Marine Launches Yamaha Marine Insurance in NZ Market

Nautilus Marine enters the New Zealand boat insurance market to administer Yamaha Marine Insurance. 

Following hot on the heels of the overwhelming acceptance and success of the YMI product in Australia, Nautilus Marine has been appointed to administer YMI for Yamaha Motor Finance New Zealand Limited.

“Our expansion into the New Zealand market with YMI is extremely exciting and we are committed to achieving the same success that the product enjoys in the Australian market,” said National Marketing Manager, Mark Crockford.

“The model that underscores the extraordinary growth and traction of YMI in Australia is entirely relevant to the New Zealand market.   After an exhaustive review of the NZ boat insurance market, we are confident of delivering a boat insurance product that will “raise the bar” when it comes to cover and price. YMI will be managed in New Zealand through Brian Gilmour, who has worked in the insurance industry for a number of years. Brian will be responsible for the roll out of YMI to the Yamaha dealers and the ongoing management of the product.

“We’re delighted to take the YMI product to NZ and offer a complete and superior boat insurance product to Yamaha customers through Yamaha dealers.”

The YMI policy covers all new, used or re-powered boats that are sold by a Yamaha outboard or WaveRunner dealer.   The cover also includes Yamaha WaveRunner and other brands of PWCs.

When consumers come to compare insurance products, they will quickly find that the YMI policy has some unique benefits.  One of the key features is the three year full replacement of a Yamaha powered boat or WaveRunner – an attractive outcome for anyone who suffers a total loss or theft in the first three years of ownership.

The arrival of YMI in the New Zealand market rounds out the one-stop-shop approach to the market.    At the one Yamaha dealership, customers can purchase a Yamaha powered boat or Yamaha WaveRunner, finance the package with Yamaha Motor Finance and insure their new boat with Yamaha Marine Insurance.
