IT’S FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR A BUSINESS MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE

Pacific Boating, the ultimate boat club membership programme, has been busy introducing more and more people to boating on Sydney Harbour over the last year, with the number of cruises booked on the fleet increasing by 50 per cent.

The business, which is located at Cabarita on Sydney Harbour and at Church Point on Pittwater, has doubled since 2009. In fact, it’s the fastest growing business of its kind in Australia with almost 250 members.

Pacific Boating’s fleet is made up of ten Searay luxury sports cruisers ranging in size from the 29 Class, licensed for 10 people and comfortably sleeps four, up to the 44 Class which is licensed for 20 and sleeps up to seven.

In 2006 when the business launched, almost three quarters of memberships were for the smaller classes of boats.“The trend we are seeing is a move from memberships on our smaller boats to those of our larger boats with almost two thirds of memberships now for the larger classes. This suggests that our members are hosting more friends and family on Sydney Harbour and so need a bigger vessel to accommodate everyone,” said Phillip Pitt, Managing Director of Pacific Boating.

Not to be confused with time share, Pacific Boating’s membership is like a golf club or gym membership where members pay an annual fee to use the facilities. In Pacific Boating’s case, it’s the use of their beautifully maintained luxury sports cruisers.“A membership is ideal for anyone who loves the thought of getting out on the water without the hassle, cost and know how of maintaining their own vessel,” explains Phillip. “A membership will give you all the pleasures of a five star boating service, including virtually unlimited use of the fleet, 24/7 member support and our very popular “walk on, walk off” service.”

The Pacific Boating fleet is undergoing a winter makeover to ensure the cruisers continue to stay in A1 condition. The look of the fleet will be updated with new timber flooring, reupholstered cockpit seats, cockpit carpets and new awnings and camper covers will ensure the crew is protected in all weather conditions.

The improvements will be completed in time for the coming summer boating season.

Memberships start from as little as $395 per month. For more information, call Pacific Boating on (02) 8765 1067 or visit online
