Malibu Boats expands its 2012 model range with three brand new models. The all new Wakesetter 22MXZ, Response TXI and Response LXR will be shown at this year’s Sydney Boat Show commencing next Thursday the 2^nd of August.

In addition to the newly released Wakesetter 22MXZ and Response TXI, Malibu now introduces the new 2012 Malibu Response LXR! Malibu designers wanted to offer water sports enthusiast the practicality if a “deep walk through” open bow design, but in a more compact high performance package with a very attractive price tag.

This stunning new model blends the feature of the immensely popular Response LX and the record breaking Response TXi. Built on the “Trusty steed” that is the SV23 Diamond hull, the LXR features slalom wakes of the highest and most competitive standard, yet with its slightly narrower beam than the TXi, will offer board riders super clean rampy wakes  with the addition of the available Manual or Power Wedge. The “MH2” frameless vented windscreen as featured on our premium Wakesetter range sits atop a completely redesigned deck which gives the LXR its new sharp and edgy good looks.

In true Malibu style the new interior oozes luxury. Typically reserved for the top of the range Wakesetter’s, the LXR also features heavily padded triple density cushioning and bolsters, complimented by soothing curves and exquisitely implemented exposed stitching which has become a signature of Malibu quality.

Storage space is in abundance in this 20ft dynamo with a split lid rear boot that allows access from within the boat or from the standard fiberglass boarding platform, and will accommodate skis or boards. The huge area beneath and behind the 2 person observer’s seat is also large to fit all your necessities for a day on the water, and there’s even more space beneath the cleverly designed 2 seater bow cushions and a flip up bow entry step with storage underneath.

Powered by one of 3 packages engineered by Malibu’s long time power partner Indmar, the LXR comes standard with the 330 “LCR” multi-port fuel injected engine, but can be optioned up to either the 350 Monsoon or the awesome new 410HP 6 litre “L96”, all of which carry Indmar’s unlimited hour 3 year warranty.

As you would have come to expect from Malibu, the long list of standard features is extensive and includes a polished stainless dash panel with LCD “info centre” display featuring “Precision Pro” speed control, fly-by-wire throttle control with electric F-N-R shift, adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, navigation lights, Cipa mirror, 2 ½  inch solid core ski pole with patented swivel head, stainless grab handles and hardware throughout, fresh hot water flush system, dripless shaft seal, battery isolator switch and more. The standard brake trailer features hot dip galvanishing, 15” alloy wheels, valanced guards, spinner guide poles and Fulton winch and jockey wheel.
