Clipper Motor Yachts, the manufacturer of highly crafted luxury trawler style vessels, is pleased to unveil its new Explorer series of traditional pilothouse, long range, offshore motor yachts ranging from 50 to 70 feet.

The bespoke pilothouse yachts have been designed for discerning cruising clients, offering a level of quality and customisation usually only available to the buyers of much larger boats.

By taking the best elements of the Clipper range, based on over two decades of customer feedback, and incorporating the latest technological innovations and fuel efficiency, the Explorer series will provide unrivalled quality, premium functionality and superior resale value.

The first model to be released in the exclusive Explorer series is the pilothouse 50. The first vessel is already sold and the second boat will start build later this year, in the company’s state of the art shipyard in Ningbo, China. The Explorer 50 is the most compact vessel in the range offering ample living and entertaining space all finished to the highest standard and will replace the Cordova 52 in the line up.

The Explorer 50 takes on the classic pilothouse design with a raised lower helm and galley. The galley boasts a large dining table and sofa with plenty of under seating storage.

The saloon and cockpit are situated on the lower level with an internal staircase leading to the flybridge where there is a double reversible helm seat, large pilothouse sofa and a foredeck seat.

The options are endless, with the choice of a flybridge hardtop or enclosed flybridge. As well as a two or three cabin layout option available.

The two-cabin design includes a full width master stateroom amidships with an island bed. Each cabin has its own ensuite and plenty of hanging space and storage.

Wide side decks make this vessel highly accessible and safer when maneuvering around the boat.

Priced from $1.190m, the Explorer 50 comes highly equipped.

The Explorer 50, will be joined by the Explorer 55 next year and the Explorer 70 in 2015 to complete the series. The range will feature economical long range cruising with extra fuel capacity.

The hulls have been designed by highly experienced, Queensland-based Naval Architect, Mark Williamson, who is also responsible for designing the Clipper Cordova 45 and 48 models.

Clipper Motor Yachts has developed the collection of exquisite Explorers in a relatively short timeframe through investment in a state of the art shipbuilding facility coupled with the acquisition of moulds and intellectual property in partnership with FuHua Shipbuilding Yard.

Clipper Motor Yachts have been producing hand crafted luxury trawler style vessels since 1977. The company is 100% Australian owned and is a popular and affordable brand, with several models in the Heritage and Cordova range, as well as Hudson Bay sedan cruisers.
