Beneteau owners across Australia have enjoyed an exciting series of Beneteau Cup Regattas, with the 2012/2013 season drawing to a close after the Vicsail Pittwater Beneteau Cup on the weekend. 17 boats enjoyed great conditions on the beautiful Pittwater with both spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions enjoying the most breeze seen in years for Vicsail Pittwaters’ 13th celebration of their event.

The Spinnaker Division was taken out by Alibi, the first, First 40 to arrive into Australia. Seas The Day and Bombolo took out the minor placings. The non-spinnaker division was dominated by Beneteaus’ Oceanis series. Still Dangerous, an Oceanis 423, took out the Division with an Oceanis 381, Le Mika in second and an Oceanis 37, Vamonos in third place.

Beneteau Cup Regattas were held across Australia, starting with Queensland in October, Sydney Harbour in November, Melbourne in March, Western Australia in April and the final Australian event in Pittwater. This season was the biggest and best yet with over 150 owners and crew enjoying competitive sailing mixed with the social benefits Beneteau owners enjoy when competing in the Beneteau Cup events.

Beneteau Pacific Brand Manager Yves Mandin is delighted with the efforts of the Australian Dealers in ensuring their Beneteau owners are provided with a great platform, such as their Beneteau Cup Regattas, for enjoying their yacht in company with other like-minded owners. “Our dealers globally undertake Beneteau Cup exclusive owner events annually and to see the most owners ever participating across Australia tells me the brand is in great shape in this very important region for our brand”, commented Mandin. “Our yachts are designed and built to allow cruiser-racers and cruising yachts the ability to sail competitively whether from a semi professional level, or in a Beneteau Cup club environment.”

The 2013/2014 series of Beneteau Cup Regattas will commence in October in conjunction with the Beneteau Queensland Owners Group, Beneteau Qld Dealer Spirit Marine and the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.
