Ellis Beach Surf Lifesaving Club has thanked Bluewater Marina with an appreciation award for its support of their club in providing a complimentary berth for its rescue boat.

Bluewater Marina, owned and managed by developer Brookfield Residential Properties, has donated a marina berth for Ellis Beach Surf Lifesaving Club to moor its rescue boat for the past two years.  This sponsorship saves the club an equivalent expense of approximately $12,000 per year.

A spokesperson for Brookfield Residential Properties said the company was honored to help the club in providing a safe and convenient marina berth that in turn frees up club funds so other worthwhile initiatives can be undertaken.

Ellis Beach Surf Lifesaving Club spokesperson, said the club’s rescue boat plays an integral role in responding to call outs on the northern beaches by water police as well as carrying out stinger net and safety patrols.

“We are so very grateful to Bluewater Marina for providing the use of their berth that also offers the ultimate convenience.  “The security of the marina coupled with its location makes an immediate response possible and at the end of the day, this makes our job a whole lot easier,” he said.
