The most modern, sophisticated and elegant boat in its class, the new Riviera 50 Enclosed Flybridge, will make her Queensland boat show premiere at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo from November 1-3.

Also premiering at the Expo this year will be the newest addition to Riviera’s SUV collection.  This just announced new model will be unveiled at the Expo with a full interior display of the stunning new 515 SUV on show for the very first time ahead of her world release at the 2014 Riviera Festival of Boating in May next year.

Bearing Riviera’s classic hallmark design, the new 515 SUV has been crafted with Riviera’s rich-heritage in mind.  Combining the high performance, blue water cruising and fish raising abilities of the classic Flybridge and the single-level leisurely entertaining features of the popular Sport Yacht series, has created a vessel like no other, a true bridge between them both.

The elevated helm area provides excellent visibility and enough space for two 16-inch display screens, as well as a steering wheel position just off the centre line.  The helm features two Navigator low-back helm chairs.

The spacious saloon features an L-shaped lounge to port with a hi-lo dining table which folds and lowers into a coffee table.  Adjacent to the dining area is a three-seater settee in which the middle seat base can slide out as an ottoman to form additional seating around the main dining table.  An optional smaller dining table folds out from the settee and sits between the two remaining seats to form a workspace or additional dining area.

The hardtop to this new single level SUV features two impressive Webasto sunroofs above the saloon that open electrically with a push of a button.

A flexible accommodation plan is a key feature of the new 515 SUV with three very generous sized staterooms and two bathrooms.  The 515 SUV offers the option to have the master stateroom forward or aft with an ensuite bathroom, allowing owners to personalise their boat layout.  The two aft cabins offer full headroom while large hull windows with opening portholes on both sides give an abundance of natural light and fresh air.  Optional hull port lights are available for the forward cabin.

Standard power is the new generation and fuel efficient twin Cummins QSC Zeus 600 pod drives.  Optional power is a choice of twin Volvo Penta IPS 800s or IPS 900 pod drives.  All engine options feature joystick control for close quarters manoeuvring.

The Gold Coast International Marine Expo is a not-for-profit, action packed, family friendly event that offers a unique behind the scenes view of the diverse and fascinating marine industry.

In its third year, the Expo will have more than 500 boats on display, including over 100 boats in the on water display.

Riviera’s impressive under cover, red carpet on-water display will feature the latest creations from Australia’s favourite and most awarded luxury boat builder, including the Queensland boat show debut of the 50 Enclosed Flybridge, 43 Open flybridge, 5800 Sport Yacht, 5000 Sport Yacht Next Generation model with Zeus, 3600 Sport Yacht, new 565 SUV, and 445 SUV.

Riviera’s chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said the Gold Coast International Marine Expo provided the perfect platform for the Queensland launch of the new 50 Enclosed Flybridge.

“The three day Expo is held right here at Riviera’s 14-hectare state-of-the-art Coomera facility and the neighbouring Gold Coast City Marina, so what better place to host the Queensland launch of this striking new model than at the home of Riviera, where the new 50 was designed and built,” Mr Longhurst said.

“For the first time in Expo history there will be a range of seminars and demonstrations on offer, and we are proud to showcase our world-class facility within which a static display will be staged where Riviera enthusiasts will see first-hand how our world-class, luxurious Riviera boats are crafted.”

Riviera’s passionate engineers and craftsmen will present the various stages of Riviera construction in a unique behind the scenes view of Riviera’s design, innovation and class-leading luxury boats.

Riviera’s Experience Centre will also be open for the duration of the three-day Expo showcasing the new range of exclusive Riviera clothing and merchandise, and the latest interior design and soft furnishings packages.  There will also be experts from Riviera’s Aftermarket and Genuine Parts Centre on hand to advise Riviera owners regarding preventative maintenance issues and helpful tips.

Mr Longhurst said the new 50 Enclosed Flybridge was bristling with surprises and innovation, from the most modern technology to time-honoured craftsmanship.

“In a first for Riviera, the 50 offers twin transom doors in the cockpit to allow better access from both the port and starboard sides.  The large cockpit features lounge seating with integrated and interchangeable table to provide a versatile alfresco entertaining area, while an island storage centre offers space for an optional barbecue or live bait tank making this vessel the ideal on water entertainer or sport fisher,” Mr Longhurst said.

Created in-house using industry-leading Unigraphics 3D software allows Riviera designers to see the exact size, space and scale of every aspect of the 50’s design in the CAD system long before a single piece of timber is cut for the plug work.

The cockpit features a self-draining moulded lazarette bin that has been integrated into the cockpit floor to provide additional storage, tender storage on the boarding platform, and increased side deck access.

The saloon offers an extensive seating arrangement with a U-shaped lounge directly opposite a three-seater settee.  The centre of the three-seater settee can be pulled out to form an ottoman or additional seat at the dinette table, while an optional two-seater table can be raised between the two remaining seats.  This innovative seating arrangement can create extended dining for up to 10 people in the saloon, while still providing ample room for relaxation.  Forward of the saloon is a television which can be raised from the dash and can be easily viewed from all seating positions, even from the cockpit.  Another clever design feature is the light-well dash, which brings light into the companionway and lower accommodation deck.

An internal staircase leads to the spacious and comfortable flybridge where a large aft L-shaped lounge runs the width of the flybridge, a chaise lounge is adjacent to the helm which features two adjustable helm chairs, great for conversing with the skipper while underway.  An abundance of lounge seating in the Flybridge makes it the ultimate skylounge for relaxed socialising and extended cruising.

Below decks is a flexible accommodation plan featuring three very equally generous sized staterooms.  The master stateroom can be forward or aft and has an ensuite bathroom in both layouts to allow owners to truly personalise their boat.  The two aft cabins offer generous headroom while large hull windows with opening portholes on both sides give an abundance of natural light and fresh air.  Optional hull windows are available for the forward cabin.

The Expo is a partnership between Riviera and Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard, Quintrex, International Paints, and Clipper Motor Yachts who founded and helped stage this annual not-for-profit community and family focused event.  Expo is so much more than a boat show as it takes visitors behind the scenes of the marine industry and does so surrounded by hundreds of exhibits from the world’s best boating brands displayed over an enlarged 3km display circuit.

A gold coin charitable donation entry fee makes this not only one of Australia’s largest shows, but one of the most affordable boat shows as well.
