Riviera, Australia’s most awarded pleasure boat builder has had a stellar performance at the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show with 10 new boat sales totalling $15 million.

Riviera’s newest models, the 53 Enclosed Flybridge and 61 Series II proved to be crowd stoppers following their successful world release on day one of the show.

Riviera’s chief executive officer, John Anderson said the 53 was the real star of the show with three sales achieved during the show.

“We exceeded our sales expectations with 10 new boat sales including three new 53 Enclosed Flybridges, two 43 Open Flybridges, one 56 Enclosed Flybridge, one 5800 Sport Yacht, and three 5000 Sport Yachts, and bound for interstate and international destinations including Sydney, Adelaide, New Zealand and Puerto Rico,” he said.

“Our new 53 Enclosed Flybridge was clearly the star of the show with many people commenting on the spacious full beam master stateroom, the well-appointed aft galley, the luxurious sky lounge and huge cockpit.”

“To mark the launch of the 53 on the first day of the show, long-time Riviera owner Dennis Hughes and his seven grandchildren gathered on the bow with 53 red helium balloons, one for each foot of this new model, to mark the occasion.”

Riviera celebrated the launch of these two new models with a VIP launch party on the Friday night of the show where 450 Riviera owners and guests enjoyed Riviera hospitality on the floating display.  Talented impersonators Dame Edna and Michael Jackson entertained revellers from the bow of a 70 Flybridge.  In fitting with the theme ‘Riviera: History in the Making’ celebrating 30 years, the Michael Jackson impersonator put on a spectacular show leading with the late musician’s hit song ‘History’.

Riviera’s director of brand and communications Stephen Milne said the VIP launch party was a huge success and everyone was impressed with the high calibre entertainment.

“It was a relaxed night where the Riviera family could join with us and celebrate the release of these significant new models and enjoy some high quality entertainment, great food, and good company as well as take a tour through the newest additions to Riviera’s award-winning and growing range,” Mr Milne said.

“Once again the I Love Riv girls were on the display welcoming our visitors and our new range of Riviera SLAM clothing and R Interiors was extremely well received.”

Riviera is now preparing for the upcoming 2011 Sydney International Boat Show in July where the 53 and 61 Series II will make their Sydney debut.

Riviera offers 20 different models from 36 to 85 feet across four model series Flybridge, Sport Yacht, Offshore Express and Motor Yachts.
