Australia’s premier luxury boat builder, Maritimo, is now offering its 440 Offshore Convertible with optional drive systems – pod or shaft drive propulsion.

When the Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible was launched last year, it broke new ground for a 44-foot flybridge cruising boat. It included a three-sided enclosed flybridge and internal staircase and an aft galley with bi-fold doors to the cockpit.

It was also the first flybridge boat from Maritimo to utilise the Volvo Penta IPS pod drive system.

Now the company has introduced another innovation – offering the option of shaft drive propulsion.

According to Maritimo founder and CEO Bill Barry-Cotter “We are able to offer these options without compromise. There is no loss of accommodation or storage space with the shaft option and no issues with performance.”

Customers can select between Volvo Penta IPS 600 turbo diesel engines rated to 435 hp or Cummins QSB 5.9 turbo diesels rated to 480hp.

Mr Barry-Cotter said the variable deadrise deep V hull will perform equally well with pod or shaft propulsion.

“When we designed the hull shape in consultation with Volvo Penta engineers, we had in mind the shaft option,” he said.

Adaptable for sportfishing, family weekends away or long-distance cruising, the Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible comfortably sleep five in three separate cabins.

With a fuel capacity of 1,800 litres and a highly efficient hull design, the Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible can comfortably cruise close to 350 nautical miles at around 22 knots and well over 1,000 nm at trolling speed.
