The Alaskan 41 is a seaworthy passage-making power catamaran that runs on two extremely economical hulls that give her cruising speeds of between 16-17 knots.

Powered only by twin 125hp Yanmar turbo diesels (housed in separate engine rooms) the Alaskan 41 has a top speed of 24 knots. Other engine options are twin 160hp Steyr, or twin 110hp Yanmar diesels.

Thanks to her economical hull shapes and small horsepower, the Alaskan also has fuel consumption figures to embarrass even the most frugal of mono-hull designs. Cruising at 16-17 knots, fuel consumption is only 1.3lt per nautical mile giving the Alaskan a range of close to 1000 sea miles.

Sophisticated and stylish, with accommodation to suit ‘live aboard’ cruisers and well set up for easy entertaining, this design will suit a wide range of applications and can literally go anywhere.

The 41 is available in kit form with many pre-cut parts and the very latest construction plans with plenty of detail. She is suitable for amateur or professional builders. The Alaskan 41 follows a ‘classic’ look, unlike her sister ship, the Alaskan 52 (15.9m), which is more the ‘trawler’ style of cat. Both cats have the same underwater section and economical cruising speeds of around 15-16 knots. The Alaskan 41 is very much a family boat capable of ocean crossings – she’s a real passage-maker.
