Back Cove has created a yacht which offers tremendous value, great style and modern practicality and is now launched here in Sydney, The new Back Cove 34. This cruising yacht that is scheduled for handover next week has the same simple features, usability and maintenance that have built the popularity of the Back Cove brand.
The new Back Cove 34 has an elegant spoon bow, broad transom and classic lines. The performance hull makes for a fast, ocean-capable vessel that planes at 10kt and cruises comfortably at 20kt. High-tech construction methods, including hull and deck infusion, ensure the boat is strong, lightweight, quiet and economical.
Below deck the new Back Cove 34 has a large island-berth and a convertible L-settee, along with a large head with separate shower stall.
The full galley, including two drawer refrigerators located under the helm seats, is situated on the helm deck and stretches out aft of the helm position. A dining area with inlaid, solid wood table is opposite the galley.
The helm deck is airy and bright and features Back Cove’s iconic upright windows that provide impressive all-round visibility. Overhead hatches, opening side windows and a centre-opening windshield create excellent ventilation.
The aft cockpit has a large, comfortable lounge area with an L-shaped bench seat and aft-facing foldaway seat.
Standard power is a 380hp Cummins QSB 5.9 diesel shaftdrive, which delivers impressive cruising range and a top speed of 25kt. Other engine options (up to 480hp) are available. The whole helm deck area lifts hydraulically for easy engine access.
It is not unusual that orders are coming in. Another 34 is in transit that will be landing in Port Kembla at the end of the month.
While orders have also been taken for its sister yacht the new Back Cove 30 that will be delivered in Busselton in WA and will be displayed at Mandurah Show in October.
