The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) will increase their presence at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in 2012. The larger stand will accommodate additional resources dedicated to promoting maritime safety and protecting the environment.
In attendance at this year’s show will be staff from the Shipping Registration Office, who can assist with enquiries regarding vessel registration, as well as search and rescue officers from AMSA’s Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC Australia), who will speak about their role and the vital importance of carrying distress beacons. There will also be AMSA representatives available to discuss the National System for Commercial Vessel Safety, with the System’s reforms commencing on 1 January 2013.
AMSA will be located alongside Maritime Safety Queensland, giving visitors to this year’s boat show a one-stop port of call for all their maritime safety enquiries.
As in previous years, there will be information bags, floating key rings and brochures on all topics pertaining to safety in our maritime environment available.
