Australia’s first Vision 46 was launched during the weekend in Adelaide with a great reception, and BBQ lunch hosted by Graeme Haese. The curiosity was too much for some who had been stalking the docks from Friday to get the first glimpse. Proud owner Jack Didyk now has his fourth Bavaria and is thrilled with the design features, space and practicality of Bavaria’s new flagship.
Initial viewing from the transom indicates a very spacious entertaining area and very welcoming ambiance that follows all the way to the master cabin. Stepping aboard, you realise there has been great thought put into the ease of sailing with minimal or no crew. The access to sheets and halyards is excellent and you can see up to trim the sails from most positions- even with the bimini up.
The companion way has comfortable, large hand rails (in case of an adventurous skipper) and steady stairs giving you confidence to carry a cheese platter up without a spill. The saloon area is flooded with natural light and shows off the volume this vessel holds with 2m of headroom. The saloon table and galley area’s are versatile and suit every situation from coffee lounge to long distance cruising.
You can take it from me she sails with great response through the helm and is beautifully balanced. You must climb aboard and see for yourself as the many features are a plenty, and speak for themselves – too many to note here. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Vision 46, she’s easy rave about, I shall leave the rest of the exploring to you!
Next Vision 46 is due into Sydney early next year along with her little sister the Vision 42.
