High-end marine electronics brand B&G has received the 2011 National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award for its groundbreaking B&G Zeus multifunction display.

Announced during the 70th annual Miami International Boat Show, the NMMA innovation award honours products that best meet the criteria of ‘innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured; benefit to the marine industry and/or consumer; practicality; and cost-effectiveness.’

Awarded in the consumer electronics category, and designed specifically for sailors, the feature-packed B&G Zeus multifunction displays offer full integration with GPS, Broadband Radar, Automatic Identification System (AIS), weather, entertainment and digital switching.

Available in 20.3cm (8″) and 30.5cm (12″) LED-backlit displays, the high-specification B&G Z8 and Z12 displays include GRIB weather file display and animation, chart overlays displaying sailing laylines and WindPlot and TimePlot histograms.

The powerful Zeus system also integrates seamlessly with data from B&G H3000 instruments, GPS, radar, AIS and award-winning Broadband Radar technology.

The Z8 and Z12 displays also integrate with a range of other approved Ethernet, SimNet and NMEA2000 devices, such as the new SonicHub audio server for onboard entertainment, the Broadband Sounder Module and ground-breaking StructureScan Sonar Imaging technology, which is ideal for finding safe anchorages and knowing what lies below the keel.
