Belize 52 Daybridge makes her world debut at the 2012 Sydney International Boat Show

That unique wind-in-the-hair and sun-on-the-face boating experience will come alive when the stunning new Belize 52 Daybridge makes her world debut at the Sydney International Boat Show.

Following on from the considerable success of the new Belize 52 Sedan, Riviera owned Belize

Motoryachts anticipates a similar response to this exciting new Daybridge model.

“This will be the world release of this new model that in its Sedan design has already secured six sales in as many months,” said Belize Motoryachts spokesman Ryan Hanson.

“This new model features an elegantly curving deep-tread staircase leading from the cockpit up to the Daybridge where the open air feeling makes for an exhilarating boating experience.”

The Daybridge features a plush L-shaped lounge with hi-lo table, which can be converted to a second sun pad – perfect for basking in the sun while enjoying an ice-cold drink from the wet bar opposite.  The lower helm station located on the Daybridge offers essential navigation aids, and if the weather becomes too hot, or cold, the Daybridge cover can be snapped on and the party can move to the protection of the lower saloon and aft deck.

The main helm station is impressive to say the least with a joystick control, two 15-inch Raymarine multifunction glass screens flanked by a pair of Smartcraft digital tachometers, Wema fuel and water gauges, a chain counter for precision anchoring, electronic engine controls, automatic trim tabs (with manual override), electric steering with adjustable wheel, standard auto-pilot, and cockpit video cameras keeping you in the picture on boat extremities – all controlled from the Treben Italian electric leather helm seat, with matching passenger seat that has a fore-and-aft chaise lounge lying alongside.

The bespoke Belize Motoryacht line is inspired by classic timeless style, incorporating traditionalism with Australian practicality.

“The 21^st century has seen a shift in boat building from northern Europe and north-eastern USA to East Asia, notably Taiwan where some of the world’s best and most luxurious motor yachts are now built.”

Highly regarded Taiwanese boat building yard, Kha Shing, have been carefully selected to build the superbly crafted Belize Motoryachts.

Kha Shing have more than 35 years experience in building luxury vessels ranging in size from 45 feet to 185 feet, and are not only ISO certified and build to that quality management standard, but they also construct to a virtual alphabet of international maritime codes such as, CE Mark, RINA, BV (Bureau Veritas), DNV, MCA, ABYC and NSW Waterways.

The new Belize 52 Daybridge is fully air-conditioned and features three cabins, including a full beam master stateroom with ensuite and opening port lights on either side to provide cross ventilation.

Fabric paneling, leather, weatherproof leatherette and woodgrain are used in a contemporary palette to create a warm and inviting ambience, and contribute to excellent acoustics.

The sheerline and profile of the Belize has kept the traditional ‘timber boat’ look without sacrificing space below decks.  The Belize 52 is surprisingly spacious with larger beds, heads, showers and living areas than similar-sized production counterparts.

The Belize 52 Daybridge is truly an outdoors experience, which is why a lot of attention has been devoted to making the most of that experience.

The wide walk-around side decks make it easy to get from the cockpit to the huge sunpad which sprawls along the centreline of the forward deck.  Moving aft, the swim platform’s centre section rises and lowers hydraulically to allow easy access to the transom’s electric tender ‘garage’, which has plenty of space for a three-metre tender and outboard that can be easily loaded by the built-in electric winch.  Above the garage is another hatch that lifts to reveal the electric barbecue and sink.  The teak decking is standard.

The cockpit features a rear lounge with plenty of storage underneath and a hi-lo table.  To the port side is a breakfast bar with swivel stools, which by sunset serves as the ideal spot to enjoy a cold drink while taking in the view.

The spacious galley features solid surface benchtops and high quality Miele appliances, such as the induction cooktop, combination oven and microwave.  The galley is also complemented with a huge window, giving the chef plenty of light and an ever changing ocean view.

Across from the galley is the true heart of the saloon; a plush L-shaped lounge that serves as lounge, dinette and extra storage for crockery, glassware and charts all tucked under.  Opening side windows bring in natural air flow and sea breezes.

Two-pack polyurethane finishes accent and protect key surfaces in the galley, on door panels and other key joinery interludes.

Not only are the design features impressive but so too are the twin aft-facing Cummins Zeus 3000 bronze pod drives, with through-hub underwater exhausts and very advanced lightweight, immensely strong carbon fibre driveshafts to reduce weight and horsepower loss from the Cummins QSC 6-cylinder turbocharged diesels delivering 600 horsepower.  The highly-refined hull was taken to the Australian Maritime College (AMC) in Tasmania for tank testing.  The warped-plane hull design has a very fine entry and strong flare decreasing to a fairly flat run aft and a deadrise of 12 degrees, delivers a top speed of around 30 knots, 25 knots cruise speed and a comfortable range at 22 knots of 400nm and leaving 10 per cent reserve fuel.

The Belize Motoryacht line uses resin-infused composite construction, double vinylester outer skin, or watertight, stepped collision bulkhead and independent foam-filled hull compartments.

“Further aiding efficiency are pod tunnels which are scooped into the aft section, protecting props and allowing a proper keel to assist tracking, with a very substantial turn-down chine in the bow which actually deflects spray to deliver a more dry and comfortable ride offshore,” Mr Hanson said.

C-zone digital switching operates all on-board electronics and electrical circuits which are networked to an 8-inch touchscreen.

The new Belize 52 Daybridge combines traditional European panache with Australian practicality – a blend of tradition and contemporary elements has created a very attractive, powerful, technically advanced, versatile and sought after new vessel.

Given there will only be a limited number of Belize Motoryachts produced each year, Belize owners will possess a very different and unique boat.

Belize Motoryachts on water display will be located within the Riviera display on the southern end of the Cockle Bay Marina, Darling Harbour from August 2 to 6.
