BIA Victoria appoints new events coordinator
The Boating Industry Association (BIA) of Victoria has appointed experienced event and logistics organiser Ashley Farr as its new Events Coordinator.
He takes over the lead role in organising the Melbourne Boat Show each July and the Melbourne International Boat and Lifestyle Show at Docklands each February.
Ashley Farr comes to BIA Victoria from a similar role at the Caravan Industry Association, working on three of Victoria’s leading caravan and camping shows.
He is already known to the marine industry through his work on the successful recent Melbourne Leisurefest.
Ashley has broad experience in the event industry, having previously worked with Harry the Hirer and Ticketmaster to serve clients including Telstra Dome, Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Tennis Australia, AFL and Commonwealth Games.
He has a strong sporting background, having worked directly for Melbourne Storm RLC, Tennis Australia and Melbourne Cricket Club, and is a keen cricketer.
BIA general manager Robert Coco said Ashley Farr was a welcome addition to the BIA team.
“He will soon become well known to our members and exhibitors in the lead-up to February’s Melbourne International Boat and Lifestyle Show and many shows thereafter,” he said.
“Ashley takes over from Kim Mastrowicz, who has taken time off to travel overseas, and he is looking forward to building on the marine interests he established through Leisurefest.”
