Boat sales success for Riviera at Melbourne Boat Show

Australia’s leading luxury boat builder, Riviera, has reported a healthy start to the Boat Show season following the Melbourne International Boating and Lifestyle Show during the weekend.

Confirming the sale of a Riviera 33 Open Flybridge as well as a number of strong sales opportunities over the next few weeks, Stuart Jackson, Dealer Principal at R Marine Jacksons VIC, said he was delighted with the result.

“We also had strong enquiry on Riviera’s Sport Yachts, particularly the new 3600 with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion. In fact a number of clients are flying to the Gold Coast to sea trial the boat. There are also many eager for the launch of the new 5800 Sport Yacht in May. Interest in Flybridge models stretch from the 33 that we sold through to the 56 Enclosed Flybridge.”

Mr Jackson said there was also strong enquiry for the new Grand Banks 41 Heritage EU with Zeus pod drives. The first of this new model is due in Melbourne at the end of February.

Riviera Syndication also reported success at the show. According to CEO John Russell, “we have a confirmed customer for our new 4400 Sport Yacht that will be based in Melbourne during the summer and at Hamilton Island in winter. We also signed a client to our 4700 Sport Yacht on the Gold Coast.”

Mr Russell said that Melbourne members were very excited about Riviera Syndication’s plans for a 5800 Sport Yacht in the Whitsundays.

Riviera and R Marine dominated the Show with 12 boats on display covering about 17 per cent of the entire show area.

“It certainly showed strength in the market,” said Mr Jackson.

According to Riviera Global Sales and Marketing Director Tim Sayer, the Melbourne show was a valuable indicator for the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May.

“Melbourne demonstrates that, if you have quality boats on display, people are eager to purchase.

“We will have a full line display at Sanctuary Cove,” he said. “The team at Riviera is very excited about the launch of the new Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht at that show.”

Mr Jackson said that Riviera and R Marine partnered with Melbourne’s largest Land Rover, Volvo and Jaguar dealer to host an owners’ party on the Saturday night.

“The show was very positive,” he said. “People realise this is a good time to buy.”
