CLUB MARINE SUPPORTS AUSTRALIAN MARINE AND SUPERYACHT AWARDS

The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) continues to drive an active marketing campaign to support the Australian marine industry given the current challenges of the economic climate. In line with the recent merger of Superyacht Australia and AIMEX, AIMEX has this year, for the first time incorporated two Superyacht Industry award categories within the award programme. The continuing support of Club Marine highlights the significance of these awards.  Club Marine is a major player in the Australian Marine Industry and their ongoing support ensures the marine industry gets the recognition it deserves both nationally and internationally.

The AIMEX marketing campaign is having positive affects as the spotlight continues to be on the Australian Marine Industry and the innovation, skills and expertise that Australian companies are becoming renown for. It is these qualities that always ensure a high calibre & number of award entries Australia is seen as a country that has been least affected by the global financial crisis with a marine sector that continues to drive innovation and is attracting significant interest from global buyers who want the security of dealing with a resilient marine sector. 

These awards reinforce Australian Marine Industry and the Superyacht industry’s commitment to excellence.

Australian Marine Exporters and Superyacht Industry product and service providers are encouraged by Club Marine to take on this opportunity as it can only add value to the business, first by providing a good analysis of the business and second through the additional publicity being involved with the awards creates.

The judges announced for 2012 are Barry Jenkins – a well known marine industry personality, Iain Murray – CEO of the Australian Export Institute, Ken Evans – previously Mercury Marine and currently working in the industry as a consultant and Dugald Anthony a senior representative from Austrade who has considerable experience and understanding of the marine sector.

Judging is conducted across seven categories this year including:

  • Most Innovative Marine Industry Exported Product or Service
  • Marine Industry Export Champion
  • Best Marine Industry Export Performance in 2011 (SMALL EXPORTER)
  • Best Marine Industry Export Performance in 2011 (MEDIUM EXPORTER)
  • Best Marine Industry Export Performance in 2011 (LARGE EXPORTER)
  • Best Marine Industry Export Marketing Strategy
  • Australian Marine Industry Exporter of the Year
  • 2012 Superyacht Industry Business Of The Year
  • Superyacht Industry Champion

Winners of the 2011 Awards included Aqualuma Marine Lighting who won the prestigious ‘Exporter of the Year’ award and ‘Best Marine Industry Export Marketing Strategy’; other winners included Britton Marine (Aust) Pty Ltd, Glowfast Marine, Sealite, P&W Marine Engineering and SOS Marine. Individual winners included Alan Steber – Steber International, Richard Ward – Seawind Catamarans and the Young Achiever award was won by Jim Bolton – Steber International.
