Club Marine, Australia’s largest provider of recreational boating insurance, was delighted by the outcome of its recent Club Marine Assist Gold Coin Life Ring promotion at the recent Sydney International Boat Show. The company had a major presence at the show and offered space and facilities to the NSW Volunteer Coast Guard for the promotion.
Showgoers were invited to donate a gold coin to the Coast Guard in exchange for an inflatable Club Marine Assist life ring donated by Club Marine. The result was a grand total of $12,551 raised for the NSW Volunteer Coast Guard over the five days of the show, from July 28 to August 1. This is a major increase from funds raised at last year’s show, which attracted a total of just on $9800.
“We are delighted to be able to contribute in such a substantial way to such a great organisation,” said Club Marine CEO, Greg Fisher. “But it is the generous people of Sydney who need to be congratulated for parting with their money in such trying economic times.”
Now in its third year, the promotion is run at most major boat shows around Australia and last year raised a total of $22,951 for various volunteer marine rescue organisations.
“It looks like we could be on track for an even bigger result this year,” said Fisher, “so I’d like to encourage all boaties and showgoers to dig even deeper for remaining boat shows in support of these great organisations.”
