The new Crestliner Fish Hawk 1850 will make its debut at the Melbourne Boat Show, June 14 to 17 2013 maintaining all the traditions of the earlier Crestliner boats that have so far arrived in Australia. Crestliner boats started coming to the country in 2011 with the Fish Hawk 1600 and 1650 already proving popular for keen anglers and families everywhere. Their popularity was due in part to the superb ride and versatile nature of the internal build.
Crestliner have been making boats for over 65 years and as a result are experts in aluminium boat construction. All Crestliner hulls are built on a sturdy superstructure which means the strength is built into the boat and not simply the result of large stretched aluminium panels, spot welds and ribs. This means, using decades of knowledge, Crestliner are able to build boats stronger using thinner aluminium sheets, interlocking tongue and groove joins and full seam welds without ever compromising safety, reliability and durability. In fact, so confident are Crestliner of their build, they offer a full lifetime transferable warranty on their hulls, offering further peace of mind. Less twist and more of a fibreglass feel is the end result.
The Fish Hawk 1850 embodies this passion and in addition to the aluminium expertise, Crestliner are masters of getting more out of their boats. Massive deck space is immediately apparent with a large bow casting platform with under floor storage and a handy recess for those bits and pieces you need easy access to. The large storage compartments in the bow can also double as iceboxes and an electric for very keen lure fishos can be added. The bow space also features plush carpet under foot.
The dash in the 1850 has been designed to allow more space for electronics and the helm pedestal seats can be moved around the boat to any one of six mounts giving you versatile seating options no matter what you are doing. For those concerned with their fishing arsenal, the port side and centre rod lockers will keep your gear in top condition and the rear oversized livewell will keep your prized catch fresh and swimming all day long.
At the rear of the boat, another massive casting platform with the customary plush carpeting underfoot keeps you casting all days long. Smartly, Crestliner have used vinyl in the high traffic cockpit areas for durability.
Overall, the Fish Hawk 1850 is 5.6m in length is capable of accommodating a 150hp maximum courtesy of the double welded transom. This boat is perfect for the family with a focus on fishing, a pastime available all around the country.
