Crownline Appoints New Adelaide Dealer

The Crownline brand of high quality bowrider, deckboat, cuddy and cruiser boats is now represented in South Australia, with the appointment of Christies Beach Marine as the exclusive authorised dealer.

Christies Beach Marine is a long established marine dealership, located south of Adelaide at Lonsdale.

According to dealership principal Rob Cuming, the Crownline brand is one which he actively sought and had kept his eye on for a number of years.

“We were an agent for the Maxum boats which were also built in the US,” said Rob Cuming.    “During our time with Maxum we used to compete against Crownline and lost quite a lot of deals along the way to Crownline.”

However in the shakeout of the US marine industry that has occurred over the past two years, many brands have disappeared, Maxum being one of them.   So without a US brand to sell at Christies Beach Marine, Rob Cuming actively pursued the Australian distributor, David Fraser, to secure the agency.

“Crownline is a first class product,” said Rob Cuming.  “It has a high quality finish, the boats right across the range perform superbly and there are plenty of models for customers to choose from.”

“Most importantly the brand is solid.   The parent company has come through the down turn in great shape and the Australian distributor is a highly experienced importer who knows the product and the Australian market.” Furthermore, local distribution has remained strong and uninterrupted since Crownline launched in Australia in 2004.

“We’re really happy with our appointment as an authorised Crownline dealer.”

Initially Christies Beach Marine will carry the Crownline 18SS and 19SS models, both fine bow riders fitted with MerCruiser sterndrive engines.

Commenting on the appointment of Christies Beach Marine, Crownline distributor David Fraser said that customers are in good hands with Rob Cuming and his team.

“We’re all very comfortable with Rob and Christies Beach Marine stocking and selling the Crownline brand,” David Fraser said.

“This is a well established dealership that has a lot of experience marketing a US built boat to their customer base.   This is a great appointment.”

The Crownline brand is wholly designed and manufactured in the US.  The first Crownline boats were manufactured in 1991, the original model to be produced being a mid range bow rider.  

Today the company operates from an expansive state-of-the-art manufacturing plant with the model range commencing at 5.5m and rounding out at 10.6m.   All Crownline boats are backed by a comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty (lifetime hull & deck warranty) and uniquely provide a 5 year warranty on installed MerCruiser engines, standard conditions apply.
