Mustang Marine Digs Deep to Deal with Industry Slowdown

Mustang Marine, like many local competitors finding it tough to weather the slowdown in the economy, is digging deep whilst preparing for a new stage of growth for the company.

After having a rather tumultuous past 12 months, Mustang Marine, now owned by Standard Bank of Asia, is setting the plans in place to re-launch their brand with new models.

“There is no doubt the market is tough, but we’re taking measures now to place us in a very strong position when the market turns around” Said Chris Heaton Mustang Marine General Manager. “Our owners are our priority, and we’ve undertaken research with our owners to gain a deeper understanding as to what they expect from their boating experience. Preliminary findings have confirmed that only a luxury boat can provide the lifestyle benefits for those that have worked hard over the years and now have the funds available to invest in their twilight years.” Mr
Heaton went on to say.

And what about Mustang and the future for the company?

“We are committed to re-establishing the Mustang brand as the leader in the Australian boat building market. We have the Management team in place focused on building innovative products that meet market demand, and built on the brand strengths of quality, sea-keeping ability and value for money”, said Mr Heaton.

“The recent signing of a new Dealer in Thailand and Singapore, plus our commitment to growing the overall International Dealer base is testament to the opportunities we see for the future of the brand.” Mr Heaton went on to say.

The quality of build and sea-keeping ability of the Mustang Sports Flybridge range was well and truly tested recently, when Glen Melton and his wife Mary powered their new Mustang 43 with Volvo IPS from the Gold Coast around the top end of Australia to Perth. Apart from a few minor hiccups the boat ensured Glen, Mary and their guests enjoyed an amazing experience in the safety of their Mustang.

The team at Mustang are currently putting the finishing touches on their stunning new 430 Sports Coupe, to debut on the Gold Coast in December. Built using the tried and tested Flybridge hull, and in a 2 or 3 cabin layout with the living area above the waterline, the 430 Sports Coupe will certainly impress discerning boat buyers.
