Formula Cruisers launches latest ICON 54 in Auckland

The latest ICON 54 built by Formula Cruisers was recently launched in Auckland and like most of Formula’s recent boats she is headed across the Tasman.

 “KARIZMA” is ICON 54 hull number eight and includes a number of new features for this model. Immediately obvious is the new frameless glass window profiles which bring a more modern look to the exterior and more light into the interior. KARIZMA also features a larger, fully enclosed fly bridge with a forward helm and aft bulkhead complete with electric drop down window. The L shaped settee converts into a double bed creating a private fourth cabin, and with the owners plans for cruising with extended family, this area will be well utilised. The saloon table is on an electric leg and expands to form another double bed, providing comfortable sleeping onboard for up to 10 people.

Formula has taken the opportunity to work with Karizma’s owners to make a number of changes throughout the boat. “Alot of the changes are subtle improvements on what we know works from our previous boats” said Troy Woods, Formula’s Sales and Marketing Manager, “but taken as a whole they are significant. “Karizma” would be without doubt the most cruising orientated ICON 54 we have built to date and most areas onboard have undergone some degree of change to better reflect the owner’s plans for the boat”.

That is not to say she is not setup for game fishing as well and with a number of tournaments planned she also includes a huge dedicated, security alarmed rod locker, gaff and tag pole lockers, game chair, large cockpit freezer, live bait tanks and a Raymarine electronics package including three 14” hybrid touch screens, a 3kw and 1 kw sounder and HD Digital radar.

Karizma boasts an extensive equipment list including air conditioning throughout, bow and stern thrusters, 17 kw generator, washing machine / drier, 500 kg davit, water maker and satellite TV. Powered by twin MTU 825hp engines, Karizma has a top speed of over 32 kts with comfortable cruising speed of 26 kts.
