There will be something for everyone at the second annual Riviera Festival of Boating with 76 events held over four days from May 23 to 26.
In less than two months Riviera’s 14-hectare, state-of-the-art Coomera facility will host 76 educational, training and social activities including, interactive displays, the Technology Showcase on the waterfront, skipper training programs, factory tours, electronic navigation schools, generator set and sanitation system in-field trouble shooting workshops, offshore seamanship, fishing clinics, and much more with many new workshops and seminars introduced for 2013.
The Riviera Festival of Boating offers free entry, free parking and easy access with many owners able to arrive by boat at the Festival. A visitor arm will be available and owners can book a berth for a 24-hour period.

How did Riviera manage to survive all the GFC has thrown at business? It’s testament to all rowing in the same direction I reckon. Great attention to detail everywhere you look, great performance, unique lifestyle and world-class finishes are the key here. The factory tour was a real eye opener. What a great piece of real estate and waterway to use as a backdrop for this most generous Riviera hospitality – thank you.
I had to rush from the understanding desalination seminar back to South Australia to turn my desalination unit on – use it or lose it. All the owners in the room had the same issues, mostly resolved by “maintain it by using it”.
Maintenance tricks of the trade was a well structured presentation delivered by blokes that have been around boats all their lives – I learnt from their installation and refits – a great ABC of our own Riv – this is a must for all owners to attend.
The fishing clinic with Captain Bob Jones was kept really simple – knots, leaders and how to wind the buggers in. Bob Jones is a sea salt who really knows his fish and you could have heard a pin drop in his offshore seamanship seminar – what a treat. Bob offered up his every error over 50 years at sea in order that we don’t repeat the same. A selfless do’s and don’ts of offshore safety. If Bob could get into these troubles imagine what I could do.
Overall, I needed two days minimum at Riviera. These sessions looked like pre-requisites for we new comers. Great initiative Riviera.
