Glow Boat’ to launch at Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show

The World’s first glow in the dark boat will make its official Queensland appearance at the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show at the RNA Showgrounds on March 20 – 22, 2009.

The ‘Glow  Boat’ will join an array of watercraft and is a welcome addition to the event which will also display Queensland’s biggest collection of fishing tackle.

The “Glow Boat’ has been in development  for over 10 years, (patent pending) and uses Visual Signals photoluminescent crystals. The glow not only makes it safer  to be out in at night but is also used to attract fish.  The unique manufacturing process used also ensures that the boat maintains its glow throughout its lifespan.

Jason Plant from the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show said the boat will be a popular attraction at the event which is expected to attract 30,000 people over three days.

“This is the first time ever a glow in the dark boat has been developed and it is a huge coup to have it on display at the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show,” Plant said.

“The ‘Glow Boat’ is another example of the vast range of watercraft which will be on display at the show – there is basically a boat there to satisfy every fisherman’s interest and needs.”

Perry Telios, Head of Sales and Marketing for Visual Signals, the company which is distributing the boats, said the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show was the perfect event to debut the boat  to Queenslanders.

“The Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show is one of the best attended boating events in Queensland and it was the perfect place for us to reveal the ‘Glow Boat’,” Telios said.

“We are expecting a lot of interest in the boat which after 10 years of development  is finally being made available to the public.  I think all fishermen will appreciate the boat’s safety features and the fact that it helps attract fish is an additional bonus.”

Made in Australia, the ‘Glow Boat’ weights 50 kilograms and is 2.5 metres long.  The boat  is also constucted from tough  polyethylene (similar to that used in water tanks) which is five times stronger than fibreglass.

The Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show is co-located with the National 4×4 Show and Outdoors Expo with tickets for both events available for the low cost of $10 adult and $8 concession with kids under 15 free.
