For the first time the internationally renowned Intermediate Marina Management Course (IMM) will be delivered in the U.A.E. this November from 25 – 28. The course will be conducted under the banner of the Global Marina Institute (GMI) and delivered by GMI foundation partners the British Marine Federation (BMF) and the Marina Industries Association (MIA) at the renowned private yacht club, Dubai Marina Yacht Club (DMYC).
GMI Chairman Mick Bettesworth CMM said: “GMI was conceived by the founding partners BMF and MIA to deliver global marina training and certification with the aim of maintaining and increasing standards in marinas across the world. Conducting the first IMM course in the region is a significant mile stone for GMI in carrying out its mission. It is also timely to start delivering GMI courses in the region. The decade long growth in marina developments now means we have a strong demand for internationally recognised training to be delivered in market”.
Scheduled as one of the course lecturers is Steve Sammes, a Certified Marina Manager (CMM) from Gold Coast City Marina in Australia and a Board member of GMI and MIA. Steve commented: “This is an exciting development for the marina industries. The course will be truly international with CMM qualified lecturers from Europe, the Middle East and Australia delivering the IMM syllabus. Participation in this intensive four day course should appeal to anyone globally who is working in the marina industries and ready for a career in marina management.”
Course topics include leadership development; health, safety and emergency management, maritime law and marketing.
