The all new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409 has just been launched in Australia with the very first model being put in the water this week. This modern and elegant yacht was designed by renowned yacht designer Philippe Briand and has been attracting attention worldwide.
Recently winning the prestigous European Yacht of the Year Award, the SO409 has contemporary hull chines, graceful lines and an uncluttered deck. The innovative deck layout has headsail and mainsail sheets that lead back to primary winches on both sides and are within easy reach of the helmsperson. All lines are led back back under the coach roof to make moving about safer.
This particular SO409 included the self-tacking headsail option and was sold by the Jeanneau dealer Perfomance Boating. It will make its home in Sydney’s Pittwater after being bought sight unseen by a group of friends who were attracted by the new design and the stunning looks of the new model. Richard, Arno, and Tony were all smiles as the champagne was poured over the bow and into the glasses. Also on hand was the first buyer from Melbourne who had flown up especially for the launch. “I knew the 409 was a beautiful boat when I ordered it but nothing prepared me for seeing it up close.” said Andrew.
A good start for the new Jeanneau SO409 in Australia after nine were ordered before the first one had made it to Australia. For all enquiries contact your Jeanneau dealer now.
