DESCRIPTION

Complete ease of handling is the key to this 2-cabin owners version of these popular coastal cruising yachts. Sold new by PBS and now under its second ownership for whom we had a self-tac king jib fitted and it was also subsequently fitted with an electric winch for the mainsheet which is led back to the port helm, opposite the jib sheet, so this is a yacht that is extremely simple to sail single-handed.

Moulded steps up the transom make it easy to board from the dock, or from a dinghy, and there is a life-raft locker under the aft step, though more commonly used for fenders. To port is a deep lazarette locker and then there is also a good-sized locker under the port cockpit seat where a fold-out picnic table becomes the cockpit table, otherwise leaving the cockpit open with a great sense of space. It has a conventional mainsail, Bimini with a zip on awning, twin solar panels that are mounted on the foredeck and easily removed when sailing, and a retractable bow-pole for an Assy spinnaker.

Down below a large L-shaped galley is to starboard, with head to port aft of which there is a dedicated shower stall, and aft of that a large dry storage locker for things such as the cockpit cushions. The saloon has a U-shaped dinette to starboard and lounge to port aft of which is the nav’ station. The nav’ table slides aft to extend the seating when not in use.

The aft owners cabin is roomy extending beyond the centreline and both it and the v-berth have fitted bedding.

For those looking for additional berths it is an inexpensive option to have the dinette convert to an additional double.

This yacht is a 2008 model with the best layout and fit out found in the 36i’s during their production and the interior is in superb condition. It was antifouled, hull polished and detailed in December and is reluctantly offered for sale.
