DESCRIPTION
Without doubt the best presented and maintained Sun Fast 3200 in the Country. “Chaos Theory” was the last 3200 delivered to Australia in July 2017 and is the only one here with the ‘R2’ cockpit which has an open life-raft well. The yacht has only been used for local club racing and on occasion the Sail Port Stephens regatta and is in stunning condition throughout.
There isn’t much that the 3200 design hasn’t achieved, both crewed and short-handed, from winning the Commodore’s Cup, to transatlantic single-handed races and everything in between. They are still winning races on IRC at the highest level in Europe and punch well above their weight when conditions get tough.
The nicely balanced hull with twin rudders provides terrific control across a range of conditions and these boats love to be pressed. With hanked headsails, lazy-jacks on the main, and an A2 and furling Code 0 this yacht is easily handled. It even has a Carbon pole to make poling out the headsail in twilight racing as easy as possible.
While headroom is modest the layout below is very comfortable with two full sized doubles aft, full length saloon seating/single berths and a wet area forward with a toilet with holding tank and shower faucet. The galley has an upgraded 2- burner gas stove with a grill, and opposite is a generous forward facing nav’ station, both sides with louvred seats.
An immaculate yacht that would suit a new boat buyer, but at a fraction of the cost. Make sure to inspect this special racer-cruiser.
