DESCRIPTION

1984 Adams 12 now for sale exclusively with DBY Boat Sales.

A well-founded design, this example is well equipped for family coastal cruising and also very competitive racing with her powerful short-handed rig set up.

A very roomy feel down below with generous headroom throughout, very large and workable U-shaped galley with pantry area, 2 aft cabins are very private, 1 large V berth forward and 4 single bunks within the main saloon area that convert easily to good storage use when not required for sleeping.

The settee features a very large table that could seat 6 easily and with the flip up butterfly additional section, it can have up to 8 or more around the table at one time. Incredible use of space for a 40 footer. Storage areas behind and underneath all seating plus additional storage under twin aft and single forward double beds. Carpeted flooring with small sections of varnished teak and holly to enhance a very warm and cosy feeling down below.

A history of numerous offshore races including several Sydney to Hobart, Coffs and Gladstone events with very impressive results.

The fully battened main is 2 years old as is the boom bag and lazy jack set up.

The furling # 2 jib is also 2018 and in excellent condition.

Additional sails include a #1 Genoa, trysail and storm sail in excellent condition plus 2 spinnakers with 2 poles mounted on deck.

The running rigging is just 6 years old. The pro furl furler was replaced at the same time in 2015 as was the Selden Rodkicker boom vang. All running rigging was renewed in 2018.

Yanmar 30HP diesel engine, shaft driven with a feathering Autostream 2 bladed propellor has just been serviced and antifoul was done in January 2021 along with new anodes.

All upholstery has been replaced 2021.

New engine and house batteries, 2 solar panels. Icom VHF and HF radios, AM/FM new radio, recent replacement of all deck hatches.

Huge chest style eutectic fridge and separate freezer are much bigger than standard so there is plenty of room for long distance liveaboard cruising or 10 crew members doing a multi-day offshore race. Large volume pressurised metho cooking for 3 ring burner stovetop and oven.
