Built for strength, balance and sea kindliness, as well as easily delivering an excellent turn of speed, the Taswell 56 is in every way the perfect ocean voyager, capable of all latitudes sailing and to withstand difficult ocean condition with ease and safety for her passengers. 

Dash is a veritable head turner, always treated with the care and respect such a yacht inspires by her two consecutive owners. Handed to you after religious upkeep and regular upgrades, this beautiful yacht is presented to you ready to begin your journey. Her owners are on board and available to welcome you for your inspection, assist with sea trial and a detailed handover to ensure that you feel safe from the very beginning of your ownership.

Because images are worth a thousand words, we have put together a detailed video tour, which was filmed in June 2024, just days before going to market, to show you this beautiful yacht exactly as she presents today. To ensure that Dash with in perfect health before being passed on to you, the owners commissioned an internationally qualified marine surveyor from Sydney, Australia, to travel to Fiji and fully survey the boat before going to market. The report is available on request. 

Dash has just come off the slip and all her maintenance is up to date. The boat is located at Vuda Marina, just 25 minutes drive north of Nadi International Airport, which has regular flights from LA, SF, Vancouver, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, as well as several NZ and Australian cities several times a day.

A Word From The Owners:

"We had been looking nationwide for ocean-going vessels for close to 18 months when we saw this Taswell 56, then named Felicia.  It was in our own backyard – same marina that we sailed out of in Marina del Rey California.  It was slightly bigger than we had planned for and slightly over our budget but when we both visited - the boat sold itself to us.  It was in such good condition having only one owner who had the boat built to his specifications that we knew this was the one.  We are happy to say we made the right decision in so many ways.  Renamed Dash, she has been our friend, our home, our protector, and provided us with much happiness for the past 11 years.

Dash has been up and down the west coast of North America.  As far north as 52 degrees in British Columbia Canada and down to Mexico.  In 2018 we cut the dock lines and left from Marina del Rey to the Marquesas French Polynesia completing the 3000nm passage in just under 20 days. Since then, we have explored French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Niue, Fiji and New Zealand.

We chose the name Dash for the boat, not due to speed (though we have had multiple “+200nm” days on passage) the name comes from the concept that our lifetime is too often summed up as two dates on a tombstone, separated by a dash and we have been out “Making the most of our Dash”!  After choosing the name, we found the beautiful poem The Dash by Linda Ellis that more eloquently spells out the concept." ACCOMMODATIONS:

• Aft Stateroom

Spacious aft stateroom with centerline queen size custom inner-spring mattress; two opening side ports over head of berth; two reading lights at top of berth with another reading light above the bench.  Double hanging closet with side cabinet for additional storage and reading bench with storage underneath.  Eight drawer vanity with mirrors. On port side additional four drawers with side storage cabinet.  Additional three opening ports in stateroom (total of five opening ports).  Large overhead hatch with built in screen and black-out slider.  B&G full function display on port side of berth; toggle switch that turns on spreader lights, USB port. Heater/AC controls in room.

• Forward Stateroom

Lovely v-berth guest quarters with centerline berth.  Double hanging closet; large under berth drawer with additional storage under berth.  Two cabinets each with two-shelves.  Shelving that runs full length along berth.  Ensuite forward head entry.  Hanging mirror attached to wall.  Large overhead hatch with built in screen and blackout slider.  Reading lights. Two opening ports with screens.  AC/Heater controls.

• Mid-ship Port Stateroom

Bunk room with single bunk on top and double bunk on bottom.  Both bunks have built in lee clothes.  Overhead hatch with built in screen and blackout slider.  One opening port.  Cabinets at each end of upper bunk.  Storage under lower bunk.  Large hanging closet that was converted into a pantry with adjustable shelves.  Hanging device still in so can be returned to a hanging locker.  Reading lights available for both bunks.

• Salon

Large open salon that allows for great entertaining or quiet reflection.  Settee on starboard side with storage underneath.  There is also storage in cabinets and behind backrests.  Westinghouse 33” TV.  On port side is a large u-shape settee that surrounds a table.  The ‘everyday’ table - a small cocktail size – allows for easy movement in and out of the settee.  A beautiful burlwood table can be easily added to the top of the smaller table to allow for six to eight for dinner.

GALLEY:

• The galley provides significant workspace along the starboard side with Corian countertops.
• Closest to salon is a three-shelf cabinet below counter with a two-shelf cabinet above counter.  
• Force 10 three burner propane stove/oven with an overhead hood exhaust fan.  
• New Propane Solenoid sensor and control replaced in 2022.
• Refrigeration is Glacier with two refrigerators that are both top and front opening and one deep freezer top loading.  
• Refrigeration compressor and motor replaced in late 2017.  
• Goldstar Microwave oven.
• Four two-shelf cabinets above refrigeration units.  One cabinet opposite freezer.  
• Double sink with foot pump activated fresh and salt water.  Spice racks. Hanging wet locker.  Two double access doors to engine room.
• Galley inventory includes variety of serving, cookware, cutlery, kitchen appliances that are available.

HEADS:

2 heads both with separate shower stalls with bench. Spacious amount of storage space in each.

• Aft Head

Entry through aft stateroom on port side. Separate shower stall with bench.  Jabsco electric 12v fresh or saltwater flush. All toilet hoses replaced in 2018.  Sink drain hose, new check valve and thru hull. New Zealand 2022 Storage cabinets above and below sink.  Opening side port with screen.

• Forward Head

Two entries – one door from hallway and second door from v-berth. Separate shower stall with bench.  Jabsco electric 12v fresh or saltwater flush. All toilet hoses replaced in 2018.  Sink drain hose, new check valve and thru hull replaced in New Zealand 2022.  Storage cabinets above and below sink.  Opening side port with screen.  Overhead hatch with screen.  Large enclosed three shelf cabinet in shower.

COMFORT:

• Air conditioning:  Three AC/Heat units (forward cabin, salon, aft cabin; ducting from salon allows bunk room AC). (Please note, the salon AC operates normally but forward and aft cabin AC needs repair).
