DESCRIPTION
Katerina (formerly Wyntje owned by Walter Cronkite) is a fine 1984 example of the Camper & Nicholson 58 Ketch, and is now for sale.
US owner has been forced to return home and this boat must sell now. All genuine offers considered.
Designed by America’s cup designer David Pedrick, she is one of only 12 limited edition Camper & Nicholson 58 yachts built in the UK.
Developed as a first class world cruising yacht she is both strong and weatherly with a vast inventory and accommodation.
Fast and powerful with a large and flexible sail plan, hydraulic headsail and in mast furling main, she can be sailed as a sloop for short passages or as a ketch for long ocean crossings.Standing Rigging was replaced in 2010.
A large engine, genset and provision for watermaker makes Katerina completely self sufficient and she has completed crossings of the Atlantic, Pacific and Tasman seas, often two handed. A stunning boat ready to sail the world again.
Ketch rigged with a long cruising keel and skeg hung rudder, raked, counter stern long central cabinhouse with a central cockpit and aft cabin.
The accommodation consists of a V berth/double cabin forward then a head with a shower and storage built into the corridor, followed to starboard by a twin berth cabin that converts to a day lounge and to port is a double berth cabin with combined head and shower.
The main saloon has a settee and navigation station to starboard with a semi circular dinette and large galley area to port. The galley is built down the port side of the cockpit and acts as the companionway to the aft cabin.
The aft cabin comprises a large central double berth with an enclosed head with stall shower starboard and a large amount of storage. The engine room is under the cockpit.
The fitout is all clear finished teak ply and teak joinery with a laid look cabin sole all finished to very high standards and well maintained.
