DESCRIPTION

Irwin 54 LAZY BONES exclusively for sale with DBY Boat Sales.

LAZY BONES is a fiberglass cutter rigged sailing vessel. She has a raked bow with bow platform and electric bow thruster, shoal draft fin keel, skeg rudder, and wine glass shaped transom with electrically controlled flush stowed fold-down stern swim platform. The mainsail furls in the boom. Auxiliary propulsion is provided by a 140 HP Yanmar marine turbo diesel and she carries 550 gallons (2080 litres) of fuel and 230 gallons (870 litres) of fresh water.

On deck, starting forward, is the bow platform, with double anchor bow rollers and Harken furling unit for the forestay, followed by a Profurl furling unit for the staysail, electric anchor windlass, and foredeck hatch.

The cabin trunk forward of the cockpit has 8 Lewmar deck hatches, 2 dorade boxes, 2 600 ft (183 m) reels of line, and a six-person inflatable life raft secured in a cradle. The cabin trunk sides have fixed windows. The cockpit has port and starboard weather deck entryways and built-in bench seating aft on each side. The moulded helm pedestal has a teak and stainless steel wheel helm and a full array of navigation and communication electronics. The helm pedestal also includes remote anchor windlass control, bow thruster controls, and propulsion engine controls. The folding leaf table extends forward of the helm console. The cockpit is covered with a custom fiberglass hardtop with a Strataglass enclosure. On top of the hardtop is a 12V 2 panel solar array.

Walking toward the stern, the aft deck is arranged with custom built-in fiberglass storage benches on each side, rail-mounted transom bench seat, 2 Lewmar deck hatches, below-deck lazarette, 48V 3 panel solar array and stainless steel small boat davits.

Down below, starting forward, is a V-berth cabin, followed by enclosed head with separate stall shower to port, and crew cabin with stacked longitudinal berths to starboard. Walking aft and up the steps is the main saloon area, which is arranged with L-shaped settees to port and starboard. The starboard settee is larger and has a leafed teak pedestal table. The navigation desk is in the aft port corner and has navigation and communication electronics and the main AC and DC electrical panels. Opposite, on the starboard side, is the aft facing breakfast bar that looks over the galley. The companionway ladder lands just inboard of the nav desk. Just to starboard of the ladder, steps lead down into the large galley. To starboard is the U-shaped food preparation area with dual drawer refrigerator and single drawer freezer, three-burner LPG stove with oven, and Corian counters with double porcelain undercounter sink. Opposite, on the port side, is a U-shaped pantry area with microwave/air fryer/bake oven in nook and stacked washer and dryer. Walking aft from the galley, the master cabin is arranged with centreline fore and aft queen berth and built-in teak cabinets and drawers on each side. The aft cabin has an ensuite head and separate stall shower tub.

The hull, decks, and superstructures are constructed of solid and/or cored fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), using multiple layers of fiberglass matt, woven roving, and polyester resin. The internal structure is comprised of fiberglass skinned wood and/or foam-cored bulkheads, frames, and stringers.
