Whether you’re planning to cruise the coastline or have guests on board for the day, a Princess 40 flybridge like this offers a great balance between entertaining and practicality – there’s almost no compromise.
Offering a two-cabin, two-head layout with a spacious cockpit and a well-proportioned flybridge, the Princess 40 is a popular design.
This boat features:
- Stacking aft doors that merge the saloon and cockpit into one area
- A functional flybridge where your family and friends can enjoy the views
- Flybridge seating and table along with a sunbed
- Bimini and clears to enclose the flybridge for weather protection
- Optional uprated Volvo Penta TAMD 63P 370hp diesels
- A Sidepower bow thruster for easy docking
- A two cabin and two head layout and the saloon lounge will sleep more
- The flybridge overhang completely shades the aft cockpit
- A climate-controlled interior for ultimate in comfort
- Generator with sound shield
- Premium tender with outboard
The interior of the Princess 40 offers a seamless sense of luxury from the high-gloss natural cherrywood timber work, the light-coloured leather lounges, cream carpet to the polished stainless-steel features and fittings throughout.
ENTERTAINING
On the main deck, the aft cockpit area features a forward-facing lounge that, when partnered with a folding table and free-standing chairs, would comfortably seat six guests under the shade of the flybridge overhang. It’s the perfect spot for those lazy afternoon lunches on the water.
As you step into the plush saloon, the layout features a U-shaped lounge to the right with another lounge to the left surrounding a beautiful cherrywood inlaid dining table. Adjacent to the entry is the wet bar with new Dometic fridge.
Forward of the lounge you will find the lower helm station offering great visibility for the skipper and co-pilot and a fully featured dash that has all the controls within arm’s reach.
GALLEY
The galley is also forward of the lounge area and to the port side. The chef is close enough to the action, but the guests won’t be getting in the way.
The galley features a benchtop in Avonite “Black Ice” that contrasts beautifully with the lighter tones of the boat’s timberwork and has an exclusive look about it. Twin sinks that have fitted covers create plenty of benchtop workspace when needed. The Panasonic microwave, 2-hotplate electric cooktop and large new under-bench Dometic fridge/freezer complete the facilities.
ACCOMMODATION
Towards the bow of the boat, you will appreciate the VIP Guest Cabin to the right which offers twin beds and features ensuite access to the day head. This bathroom also provides two-way access from the corridor.
The Master Cabin is located in the bow with its own ensuite bathroom. The island double berth features a mirror-backed bedhead, and plentiful cupboard space including hanging lockers.
FLYBRIDGE
The upper deck flybridge offers seating for two at the helm, four around the table on an L-shaped lounge and a sun pad for another two at the rear. A complete bimini and clears package around the flybridge will extend your boating season into the cooler months and provide protection from the heat of the sun in summer.
The upper helm station enjoys a complete duplication of the lower helm’s instrumentation including the Raymarine HybridTouch Plotter/Sounder and Autopilot. The feel of the Volvo electronic shift/throttle controls cannot be praised too highly, offering ease of operation and positive control.
ENGINEERING
Access to the engine room is via a deck hatch in the cockpit floor and provides the ability to conduct your general checks and visual inspections before you head out. Adjacent is access to the lazarette which, apart from offering good storage space is the location of the generator, air-conditioning systems and batteries.
The Volvo Penta TAMD diesels are a smooth, relatively quiet and reliable pairing with this deep-vee hull design from Bernard Olesinski. The current owners have been enjoying consistent use of the boat and have ensured that she has been well cared for.
The twin fuel tanks contain 1,136 litres of diesel and have a crossover system. This, combined with the fuel efficiency, has been tested to have a cruising range that is over 300 nautical miles.
