Major Marine Auction Worth More Than 15 Million Dollars

The collection of luxury boats going to auction at The Event auction on the Gold Coast next weekend has been estimated to be worth around $15 million, and is already attracting the keen eye of lifestyle investors.
 
Ray White Marine sales and marketing manager Mark Ali said they have been fielding Australia-wide interest, with buyers from as far as Perth and The Whitsunday’s coming to the Gold Coast for next week’s three-day Event auction.
 
The Event, hosted by the Ray White Surfers Paradise Group, will incorporate marine vessels for the first time, with 11 boats scheduled to be placed under the hammer at the Palazzo Versace ballroom on Saturday January 29th.
 
Mr Ali, a marine industry specialist, said they had already received offers on a number of The Event boats.
 
“We are working with a series of very eager buyers from across the country and the interest in these vessels is mounting day by day,” Mr Ali said.
 
Mr Ali said the majority of the vessels are currently docked for viewing in the Marina Oceanus marina at Marina Mirage, with private viewings available by appointment.
 
Two of the boats going to The Event auction are docked in Sydney Harbour, and, in an industry first, will be part of a ‘virtual auction’ with high definition audio visual videos of the vessels on multiple big screen displays in the Palazzo Versace auction room.
 
Mr Ali said the interest in Ray White Marine’s flagship Event auction program is evidence of returning confidence in the luxury boat sector.
 
“There is a lot more optimism in the industry, and there are certainly greater numbers of lifestyle investors scouting for quality vessels,” he said.
 
“We are dealing with legitimate buyers from Sydney, West Australia, Victoria and northern Queensland, as well as very realistic sellers meeting the market.
 
“We have a seller from Melbourne who had his 45 ft luxury boat put on a truck and transported up to the Gold Coast especially for the campaign. These are highly motivated sellers.”
 
As well as a collection of marine vessels, The Event will feature commercial, industrial, prestige properties and general residential properties, in a never-before-seen three day program.
