Maritimo boosts US strength with HMY appointment

Australia’s leading luxury boat builder, Maritimo, has appointed HMY Yacht Sales as its dealer for the east coast of Florida through North Carolina.

HMY is one of the largest leisure boat dealers in the south-eastern United States with eight offices stretching from Miami north to Jacksonville in Florida and Charleston in South Carolina.

Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter said HMY’s skills and strength in the region would add weight to the company’s marketing efforts in the vital US market.

HMY general manager Tom Sanders and brokers Sandy Cochran and Steve Barcsansky will attend the Sydney International Boat Show where the new Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible featuring twin Volvo IPS 600 diesel engines will make its debut. 

The team will visit the Maritimo factory after the show for initial product training.

The move completes Maritimo’s distribution plans for south-eastern United States. In January Maritimo announced the appointment of Galati Yacht Sales, a company with eight sites stretching from the western side of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico coast.
