Australian luxury boat manufacturer Maritimo made a strategic decision late last year to re-focus on its core strengths and to design and release a totally new range of high performance luxury motoryachts and it has paid off in spades.

One of the products of that re-think, the sleek new Maritimo M58 Motoryacht has taken the Australian, USA and European markets by storm. The latest sale has seen an M58 customised slightly for the Monaco, Europe market place with a crew quarters being incorporated into the rear of the vessel.

The Maritimo M58 has the very DNA of the world renowned Bill Barry-Cotter flybridge cruiser range running right through it and buyers in Australia, the USA and Europe are totally sold on it.

Perfectly engineered, delivering top fuel efficiency, demonstrating exceptional sea-keeping abilities and providing a luxurious, livable and totally functional onboard environment for the discerning skipper and his family or friends the Maritimo M58 is a ‘boatie’s boat.’

Maritimo Sales and Marketing manager Greg Haines said the latest sale to Monaco was in indication of the new boats popularity.

“When we showed the boat for the first time we knew we were on a winner and the enthusiasm for this vessel has continued to grow at the Sanctuary Cove, Sydney and Fort Lauderdale shows. “ In Fort Lauderdale recently the AIMM Power and Motoryacht Magazine 2012 Editor’s Choice Award – Best imported Motoryacht 50-60 feet was awarded to the M58.

“With the economic conditions that are prevailing in Europe we are very pleased to be seeing one of the M58’s headed to Monaco and the inclusion of a crew quarters into the vessel indicates the type of purchaser who will ultimately be enjoying it.”  The vessel is being shipped in January.

Mr Haines said everything about the M58 had been thoroughly researched and reviewed and the inclusion of benefits such as the full beam master state room with ensuite and chaise lounge, make-up vanity or study and large portholes port and starboard had underwritten its appeal.

“On the business end of things the nine degree shaft angle and thick shaft diameter, dynamic variable deadrise hand laid hull, with five year structural guarantee, and shaft drive technology with optional Xenta joystick control provides a formidable package,” he said.

“There’s also large fuel tanks for long range cruising and the best fuel efficiency in its class so you can go further, for longer.”

Mr Haines said the M58 really came into its own in terms of the living environment.

Its fully enclosed flybridge, accessed by internal stairs, is protected from the weather and with the option for the dinette to convert to a large double it provides a second stateroom for guests or extended family.

With its extended aft flybridge balcony, bar and drinks fridge it is the perfect place to relax at the end of the day and watch the sun go down or the stars come out.

Stepping in from the wide teak laid cockpit wide opening bi-fold doors make for ease of entry and create an air of open plan, breezy spacious single level living.  There is a fully equipped aft galley, a large dining table capable of accommodating six diners, ample storage space and plush lounges for relaxing.

The transom entertainment console with barbeque, sink and eutectic freezer is the perfect place to enjoy a drink and grill the catch of the day.

Forward saloon windows allow ample natural light into the saloon and the finishes throughout are top of the range, according to Mr Haines.

“We have looked at all the little things,” he said. “The internal staircase has stainless step rails, stainless inlaid teak treads and support beams, there’s a moulded staircase to the engine room which has a moulded gelcoat engine room liner bonded to the hull, the flybridge has a sunroof, there’s port and starboard fender and rope storage, the lazarette is large and capable of storing all the toys, basically we have thought of everything.”

Mr Haines said the M58 came standard with twin Volvo D13 800MHP engines and has a cruising speed of approximately 25 knots.

The vessel sleeps a total eight people in privacy and comfort and there are two fully equipped bathrooms including the master stateroom ensuite.

The M58 is marketed at $2.05 million.
