Luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo which celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show at the weekend said the positivity evident at the show was the best it had been since the GFC.
Sales and marketing manager Greg Haines said the company was working with a number of prospective purchasers who attended the show and he expected further sales to eventuate.
“The response to our new M50 cruising motoryacht and S50 single level cruiser was phenomenal and I am confident we will secure additional sales to the ones already finalized,” he said.
“It was our 10th anniversary and the show’s 25th year so some major milestones reached.”
Mr Haines said the full beam master suites in the two new models had been an instant hit with the boating public.
Maritimo had a total of seven boats on display at Sanctuary Cove including the Maritimo Offshore Racing Team’s 2012 world championship winning boat.
“People can see the links between what we learn and evolve with the offshore powerboat racing and what we adopt for use in our cruising vessels,” he said.
“No other Australian manufacturer can provide that point of difference and it shows in our performance figures and basic sea keeping qualities.”
Mr Haines said the company had sold an M58 cruising motoryacht for in excess of $2 million and the S50 single level cruiser for around $1.5 million at the weekend and was negotiating with a number of other buyers.
“We have been heartened by the optimism and enthusiasm that was on display at Sanctuary Cove and we believe the market may be heading for better times after a very tough few years.
