Leading luxury boat manufacturer Maritimo is confident its strong start to the southern hemisphere’s 2012 boat show calendar will continue at the upcoming Sydney International event.

Maritimo recorded its best result in four years at last month’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show with $12 million in sales.

Maritimo Marketing Director Luke Durman said the boat show response was very encouraging for the marque as it sets out to unveil the Maritimo M45 – two of the unproduced models sold at Sanctuary Cove – at the upcoming Sydney International Boat Show.

The newly released M45 and M54 models were snapped up as part of a strong response from Maritimo’s United States dealers, eight of whom made the visit to the annual show.

Maritimo sold a total of 14 boats during, and in the wake, of the boat show. Nine of the models are destined for the United States and Latin America.

Purchases ranged from the newly released and popular Mustang 43 (five) to the new Maritimo M58 which debuted at the four-day exhibition.

“It’s been the best response from Sanctuary Cove we’ve had in four years,’’ said Mr Durman.

“The off the plan purchases of the M45 and M54 were great validations for where Maritimo is headed – off the plan purchases have been a rarity in recent years.

“The dealer that purchased the M45 likened it somewhat to the M48, which has been a proven winner. Similarly, the M54 purchaser thought it was heavily influenced by the M58, which we had on show, but slightly more economical.’’

Maritimo’s display at the Sanctuary Cove drew considerable purchaser, dealer and media interest for the unveiling of the M58 and the revamped brand identity, Oceans Apart.

“It was very pleasing that the M58 was one of the eight boats we’ll deliver to US dealers including two Mustang 43s, two of the unproduced M45, a Mustang 50, an two M54’s and the Maritimo 470 Offshore Cruising Motoryacht.

“The response to the M58 was exceptional: the size of the master cabin blew away everyone’s expectations and the quality of the detail and finish recurred in everyone’s feedback. We expect to complete a number of sea trials with the M58 in coming days as well.

“We also brought new life to our Oceans Apart brand at the boat show, and it really resonated well with visitors. But you can’t simply have a statement that claims Maritimo is like nothing else available – you have to have a stable of models which confirms it.

“We’ve undertaken extensive customer engagement through workshops and surveys, and that has helped us reaffirm that Maritimo truly is Oceans Apart.’’

In addition to its overseas interest, Maritimo took three orders for its Mustang 43, as well as an M48 and C53 Sports Cabriolet which were bought by Queensland buyers.

The Maritimo M45 will be unveiled at the Sydney International Boat Show.

The M45 is an eye-catching cruiser with all the quality design and sea-keeping ability of Maritimo’s larger offerings. While slightly more compact, it still has the ability to sleep eight for as many nights on the water as owners choose.

Walk-around decks have been recessed for ease of access to the foredeck while the saloon boasts space comparable to its bigger brothers in the stable.

The daybed / lounge in the saloon can be converted into a double bed, which looks out toward an aft galley and wide opening bi-fold saloon doors.

There is also an internal staircase to the fly bridge, a three sided enclosed fly bridge with  forward helm, an aft, full-width fly bridge dinette lounge that coverts to a double bed creating a private penthouse suite, transom barbeque console and a two cabin, two bathroom layout.

The M45 will come with twin shaft or twin IPS propulsion.
