Iconic Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer, Maritimo, will be well represented at next month’s Mandurah Boat Show and the company’s Western Australian dealer, Yachtwest Maritimo, is cautiously optimistic about the success of the event.
Yachtwest manager, Trevor Parkins, said the confidence and enthusiasm that was evident at the recent Sydney International Boat Show was encouraging and he hoped that sentiment would spill over into the Mandurah show.
“We are the main sponsors of the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club and we are heavily involved in the show so I’m quietly confident,” he said.
This is the first year that Yachtwest has been the sole Maritimo and Mustang distributor in Western Australia. They will display the M52 cruising motoryacht, a 470 offshore convertible and the newly released Mustang 43 sports cruiser. “We have a good variety to show prospective buyers and the Mustang 43 on display with shafts is perfectly suited to the Mandurah waterways and canals so we may see it go,” he said.
“The price for that vessel landed in Mandurah is around the $850,000 mark.
“We have been very impressed with the new models coming out of the factory and some of the design elements in vessels like the Mustang 43 are exceptional. “ I think the market is more upbeat and we are confident of a good show.”
Maritimo’s sales and marketing manager Greg Haines said the Western Australian market was always a strong one for the company.
“Boating in WA waters can present its challenges and that is where the exceptional sea-keeping abilities of our vessels really some into their own,” he said.
“We have sold a variety of models into the Western Australian market over the years and the Maritimo and Mustang brands both have a strong following. “ With our new releases and our refocus on the core strengths of the brand we are hopeful that Mandurah will deliver some good results for the WA team.”
