Moorings adds powercat to its fleet

Charter company The Moorings has added an 11.6 metre power catamaran to in its fleets in the Bay of Islands and Vava’u in Tonga.

The new vessel, a Voyager 1100, will be available for either bareboat or skippered charter.

The Moorings managing director Shane Walker describes the Voyager 1100 has a big volume, easily-driven catamaran.

“Our new 1100 has three cabins, a large, fully enclosed flybridge, a big cockpit ideal for fishing and diving and loads of other features.”

These include separate, spacious “upstairs/downstairs” living areas, a cockpit barbecue and a full set of Raymarine electronics including GPS plotter, autopilot and fishfinder.

The Voyager 1100 is powered by twin 150hp shaft driven Yanmar diesels and uses a total of just 1.8 litres of diesel per nautical mile.

The catamaran is not only very economical, it is also very seaworthy.

The Voyager 1100 is now available for charter on the Northland Coast from The Moorings’ base in Opua and will be available in Vava’u, Tonga from April.
