Some of the world’s most esteemed marine brands will launch their latest releases at the third annual Gold Coast International Marine Expo held from November 1-3.
The not-for-profit, action-packed, family friendly event offers a unique behind the scenes view of the diverse marine industry, and since its inception in 2011 has gone from strength to strength.
This year’s Expo marks the world release of the new models from Clipper Motor Yachts, Alaska, Quintrex, Integrity Motor Yachts and Stefan Boating World.
After two years on the drawing board, Clipper is pleased to announce the imminent arrival of its new range of lobster style sedan cruisers, the Hudson Bay series, which is available in a 28ft, 34ft and 39ft model.
Designed with local knowledge for coastal cruising for families and avid entertainers, Alaska Motor Yachts’ flagship 59 Sedan offers four cabins, high-sided walk arounds, open-plan integration of the helm, galley and dining and saloon areas for onboard entertaining and is the first Alaska to feature Wesmar Hydraulic Stabilisers as standard equipment to assure comfort and safety at sea.
Quintrex’s new innovative Blade Hull design uses stretch forming technology and the fine-tuned combination of convex and concave shapes, which allows the hull to cut through choppy water like a knife while deflecting spray, making this Quintrex’s most advanced hull design yet.
The new Integrity 440 Sedan offers exceptional lateral stability and the generous beam also allows for wide walk around side decks for safety aboard without impacting on the internal areas. The raised foredeck has allowed for a very comfortable lower deck accommodation area featuring two very spacious cabins offering full queen size beds and exceptional head height. The 440 Sedan can cleverly sleep an additional two couples in the fully enclosed cockpit and saloon dinette. This innovative accommodation design is a great feature of this very versatile craft.
Stefan Boating World will launch a range of boats to suit every boater and budget including the Smartliner for anglers, Razer Cat for jet skiers, Karnic for leisure boating, The Clear Bottom for reef watching and The Gladiator for the adventurer all at the Expo. Stefan will also announce at Expo his new relationship as a franchise of the world’s leading outboard company.
Gold Coast International Marine Expo spokeswoman Emma Milne said it was pleasing to see so many international marine brands launching their new products at the Expo.
“This year the Expo will stage more than 20 new product releases, including the Southern Hemisphere release of the Lipari 41 Evolution and Catana 59 from Multihull Solutions, the Australian release of Xenta from Aquamare Marine, Honwave Inflatables from Honda Australia, Silentwind Wind Generator, Dustless Blasting from Bradford Marine, and the Jet Ski Dock from Pacific Pontoon & Pier,” Ms Milne said.
The latest new model to arrive in Australia from Multihull Solutions, the Catana 59, will have her Southern Hemisphere release at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo. Featuring a sleek and minimalist design with single level cockpit and saloon, multi-purpose extendable lounge, and truly unique living zones, the Catana 59 has an incredible sense of space.
Another Australian release is Honda Australia’s Honwave Inflatable, which has been designed for use with Honda’s range of lightweight and fuel-efficient portable outboard engines.
Manufactured from premium-quality PVC, the Honwave range encompasses models spanning 2-3m in length, packaged with Honda outboards from the BF2.3 to the BF15.
Ms Milne said it was also pleasing to announce the Queensland premiere of the new Riviera 50 Enclosed Flybridge, which features three cabins, two bathrooms and a Euro-style interior, making this an entirely new Riviera.
“Riviera will also unveil at the Expo the very latest addition to its SUV Collection, the new 515 SUV with a full interior display of this exciting new vessel on show for the very first time ahead of her world release at the 2014 Riviera Festival of Boating in May,” she said.
“Other Queensland premieres will include the Brig Eagle 480 from Sirocco Marine North, Bayliner Element from C Worthy Marine, and Algaefree, to name but a few of the exciting new product releases at the Expo.”
The new Bayliner Element is a simple, straightforward multi-purpose boat. The hull has been specifically designed for this particular model and is based on an “M” shape that keeps the boat stable and allows for flat safe turns, something research suggested boaters were conscious of out on the water. Powered by a 60hp Mercury outboard, the Element has all the power you need for cruising, watersports or simply getting out and about.
“The Expo is so much more than a boat show – it encourages boating enthusiasts and exhibitors to come together in an interactive and memorable manner, and this is evident in the significant number of new product releases and attractions planned this year,” Ms Milne said.
“Everything from kayaks to superyachts, fishing equipment to jet skis and everything else in between will be on show over a 3km display circuit, and with live attractions and demonstrations taking place every 15 minutes, the Expo will definitely be an interactive and memorable event for everyone.
“As Australia’s only ‘working boat show’ we are pleased to have a comprehensive list of new live seminars and demonstrations this year, including the Family Zone which is a greatly expanded Kids Club.
“The Coomera Cup encompasses a 12km kayaking course and comprises of three 4km laps around Foxell Island and is open to a wide range of categories, ages and skill levels for kayakers. See the start of this exciting race at 9am and the finish at approximately 11am from the Main Stage.
“Other new attractions include the Expo High Divers, cooking demonstrations by Club Marine’s resident chef Bart Beek, fishing talks by Doug Burt, the new Riviera seminars, and for the first time at Expo you have the chance to come down to the marina and tour Sea World’s primary research and rescue vessel, Sea World 1.
“We also have an exciting line-up of popular entertainment this year with the Yamaha Supertank Fishing Show, the Jetpack Adventures Demonstration, mock rescue demonstrations from the Westpac Surf Life Saving Helicopter Rescue Service, the Flyboard X, and Travel Lift demonstrations.”
This year’s Expo is set to break all its previous records with more marine brands on display, more boats, more new product releases, more attractions and entertainment, and more local and international visitors through the gates during the three day Expo.
A gold coin donation is requested upon entry to the Gold Coast International Marine Expo which will be donated directly back to community groups including the Rotary Club of Coomera River, Paradise Kids, the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter Rescue Service and Sailability Gold Coast, all of whom give so generously their time to support the operations at Expo.
Easy access including free on site parking is another major draw card for boating enthusiasts from across the nation.
