Australian luxury boat builder Mustang Marine, has revealed plans for a new addition to its existing range of Sports Cruiser and Sports Flybridge vessels – the Sports Coupé.
Mustang’s Sports Coupé design brief was to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor living areas on a single level allowing for 360 degree views of the great outdoors. The new design sees the cockpit, lounge, galley, and helm areas located on one level keeping family and friends together on one integrated entertaining deck, while sleeping quarters and bathrooms remain below deck.
The new design combines the proven hull design of the Sports Flybridge range with a newly developed deck and interior layout resulting in fresh styling with sea-going performance capabilities. Once again, Mustang Marine will use Volvo Penta’s IPS technology, which the company has embraced since 2006, with IPS600 engines and drives fitted as standard equipment including the all important Joystick Docking System.
The Sports Coupé series will be introduced through the release of the first model in the range; the 430, with plans for further models in 2009. The Mustang 430 Sports Coupé will feature the ideal entertaining area including large swim platform with boot and integrated BBQ station, large cockpit with lounge, table and directors chairs, and wet bar. Fully glazed bi-fold entrance doors lead in to the indoor living areas featuring a fully equipped starboard galley with opening window to the cockpit running forward to the extensive helm station while a bar, lounge and dining area opens up to port. Full glazing provides 360 degree views and fills the vessel with natural light while the air-conditioned hardtop provides protection from the elements.
Mustang’s efficient use of space has allowed for 2 layout options below deck; 2-cabin, 1 bathroom; or an optional 3-cabin, 2 bathroom configuration providing comfortable accommodations for up to 8 people.
Due to be released late 2008, the new 430 Sports Coupé is the result of an exciting multi-million dollar research and development program implemented by the new Mustang Marine management team. The new program is charged with several projects including development of the Sports Coupe range, rejuvenation of the Sports Cruiser range, and further development of the Sports Flybridge range.
“The new 430 Sports Coupé is an exciting development for the new Mustang Marine team. We are committed to the continual growth of the Mustang brand and the addition of this new range is the first of many new developments in the pipeline including the release of the much anticipated M56 Sports Flybridge,” said Mustang Marine CEO, Chris Heaton.
More progress information on the Mustang 430 Sports Coupé will be released shortly as well as information on other projects as they come on line.
