Joining the display of the ever-popular Fleming 55, a new Fleming 65 will be exhibited for the first time at the 2010 Sydney International Boat Show held July 29-August 2.

Its layout is similar in concept to the ever popular Fleming 55, but being 70% larger in displacement, it offers much more interior and deck space than her smaller sibling. The first 65, Tony Fleming’s Venture, has cruised over 20,000 miles providing invaluable feedback to the factory during an ongoing process of product evaluation and refinement.

This new 65, hull 25, features several new products and design refinements including the award winning Seatorque enclosed shaft system. By soft-mounting the engines and delivering thrust to the hull structure, noise and vibration are greatly reduced. Eliminating exposed shaft rotation also reduces drag, resulting in increased fuel efficiency.

Also among the 65’s many new features is the ability to run the pilothouse air conditioning system (in cool or heat mode) from the inverters while cruising.  This reduces the hours needed to run the generator. Highly efficient LED interior/exterior lighting is also featured. A new, central monitoring system provides instant data on bilge levels, fire detection devices, nav lights, bilge pumps, fuel and water levels and more.  Information is displayed on a 15” full color, touch screen display.

Also new on this 65 is an extended aft deck overhang that protects the vessel’s cockpit. This feature is of particular interest to those who cruise in areas with harsh weather conditions.

Fleming is also announcing the availability of a new, full-beam owner’s stateroom layout.  (See diagram below.) “This layout has been developed at the request of potential buyers who prefer a midships master stateroom,” comments Duncan Cowie of Fleming Yachts.

Standard power for the Fleming 65 is a pair of MAN 800 hp diesel engines, and MAN 1100 hp engines are optional. With a fuel capacity of 1700 gallons, she has a range of approximately 1500 nautical miles while running at 9 knots.  Powered with her standard engines, she is capable of cruising between 16 and 17 knots.

Only the finest construction materials and methods are used including vinylester resins, multiple layers of epoxy barriers, imported Corecell foam and American Cook gelcoat.  In addition to Fleming’s one-year warranty and five-year structural warranty, the underwater hull section has a five-year warranty against blistering.

Both the Fleming 55 and 65 are sold through a network of authorized dealers in the United States and Europe and agents in Australia and New Zealand. For more detailed information on Fleming Yachts, please visit www.flemingyachts.com.
