The new S50 cruising motor yacht released by Maritimo is sure to have broad appeal for a whole range of purchasers who prefer single level boating and possibly have to negotiate under bridges to reach their home berths.

The S50 has evolved from a revision of one of the most successful flybridge motor yachts that luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo has ever produced, the M48 cruising motor yacht.

The M48 was refined and extended to create the new look M50 fly bridge motor yacht which has been an instant success in Australia and internationally and then the sedan version of the fly bridge vessel was created from that.

The original M48 has been one of Maritimo’s most successful models with more than 100 sold internationally and satisfied owners now using their M48 flybridge motor yachts in places as far away as Italy, Spain, the UK, the USA and the UAE.

The new look S50 sedan takes the tried and proven and enhances it even further.

Maritimo Sales and Marketing Manager Greg Haines said the S50 was perfect for owners who lived on the waterfront, but had to negotiate bridges.

“We are also finding that there is a very strong market segment where purchasers want to have everything on the one level,” he said. “Older purchasers particularly want to keep it all on one level and not have to negotiate flybridges.”

Mr Haines said the renowned fuel efficiency and performance levels that were hallmarks of Maritimo had not been compromised in the S50 and the hull design made for exceptional sea keeping.

“The layout provides a full beam master suite, a double VIP/guest cabin forward and starboard bunk cabin,” he said.

“The  full beam master suite which is luxurious and spacious making the boat perfect for families who have several children or for cruising couples who want their own space and privacy while also being able to take up to two other couples with them at times.

“By having their own master suite with ensuite their privacy and comfort is assured.”

The S50 comes with Volvo Penta power plants and is driven by traditional shaft drives.

The stern has two different options, standard is Maritimo’s conventional island module and optional is the new Euro transom with plush seating and rear access to the lazarette.

Mr Haines said as with the first model the positioning of the galley aft was a big plus and feedback from owners was that this was one of the key features in making the S50 so livable.

“The wide walk around decks also feature heavily in our research as being something that really attracts people to this particular model.”
