Australian luxury boat manufacturer Maritimo made a strategic decision late last year to re-focus on its core strengths and to design and release a totally new range of high performance luxury vessels, and the sleek new Maritimo S58 Sedan is a result of that re-think.
The Maritimo S58 Sedan is a sleek, stylish sibling to the already popular M58 flybridge motoryacht and its planned launch in November 2012 is expected to attract considerable attention.
The S58 is a very different offering to Maritimo’s popular European styled C60 Sports Cabriolet. The S58 is aimed squarely at those who enjoy the more versatile arrangement of the open cockpit but with a single level sports sedan.
“We don’t expect to sell great volumes of these boats – It’s about finding a niche segment and then building it to exceed customers expectations, said Maritimo’s sales and marketing manager Greg Haines.
“The new model development comes following Maritimo’s customer research where it was found that there was demand for a non-flybridge boat with the distinctive Australian /New Zealand look and layout with a more versatile open cockpit. “This will really appeal to the discerning voyager coming out of a sports fish flybridge model.”
Precision engineered, delivering top fuel efficiency, demonstrating exceptional sea-keeping abilities and providing a luxurious, livable and totally functional onboard environment for the discerning skipper and his family or friends the Maritimo S58 Sedan is a ”boatie’s boat”.
Mr Haines said everything about the S58 Sedan had been thoroughly researched and reviewed and the inclusion of benefits such as the full beam master stateroom with ensuite and chaise lounge, make-up vanity or study and large portholes port and starboard guaranteed its appeal.
“On the business end of things the nine degree shaft angle and thick shaft diameter, dynamic variable dead rise hand laid hull, with five year structural guarantee, and shaft drive technology with optional Xenta Maneuvering System provide a formidable package,” he said.
“There are also large fuel tanks for long range cruising and the best fuel efficiency in its class so you can go further for longer. “ Be it for a weekend, a week or a month the S58 Sedan is the perfect cruising vessel and it will deliver its precious cargo in safety and comfort.”
Mr Haines said the S58 Sedan really came into its own in terms of the living environment.
Stepping in from the wide teak laid cockpit, wide opening bi-fold doors make for ease of entry and create an air of open plan, breezy spacious single level living. There is a fully equipped aft galley, a large dining table capable of accommodating six diners, ample storage space and plush lounges for relaxing.
The transom entertainment console with barbeque, sink and eutectic freezer is the perfect place to enjoy a drink and grill the catch of the day. The cockpit spills past the transom entertainment console port and starboard onto the ample teak laid swim platform creating even more waterfront real estate.
Inside forward saloon windows allow ample natural light into the saloon and the finishes throughout are top of the range, according to Mr Haines.
“We have looked at all the little things,” he said. There’s a staircase to the engine room which has a moulded gelcoat engine room liner bonded to the hull, there’s port and starboard fender and rope storage, the lazarette is large and capable of storing all the toys − basically we have thought of everything.”
He said the sedan was also perfect for waterfront property owners who had to navigate under bridges to reach their homes which was the case for thousands of Gold Coast boat owners.
Mr Haines said the S58 Sedan would come standard with twin Volvo D13 800MHP engines and have cruising speed of approximately 25 knots.
The vessel sleeps a total of 6 people in privacy and comfort and there are two fully equipped bathrooms including the master stateroom ensuite.
The S58 Sedan will be marketed at $1.99 million.
